I have to agree with you KJJ. Oh make no mistake, Dak and his monster contracts have to go, but I agree with your statement "Good luck finding a QB that’s going to be able to overcome some of the glaring problems we see every season, especially in the playoffs."
But watch what happens when our 3 consecutive 12-5 seasons turns into 3 consecutive 5-12 seasons but they won't have Dak here to blame it on.
They think they can find a franchise QB off the street.

QB’s don’t grow on trees. No matter what you think of Dak, he‘s not the reason for not having much playoff success. He was 2nd in NFL MVP race for a reason. He’s that good. Once he’s gone, it could possibly be years before they break .500. This is no Chicago Bears defense in the making not with massive holes at DT and LB. Mahomes and Brady are generational type players. Picking a QB in the draft is a 50/50 crap shoot AT BEST. So many 1st round busts at that position. Casual fans don’t understand that and want Dak gone NOW. But ask them who’s going to be the QB? They think anyone they draft will be the answer right away. Not likely to happen.

I hope Dak gets extended because I know he gives the team the best chance of winning the Super Bowl. I just hope it’s a team friendly extension. Fix the running game and get a defense that can stop the run and he can easily lead this team to the Super Bowl.
Well, chap, at least we'll get higher draft picks with .500 seasons.
All Dak has done is to perfect the art of 1 and done in the playoffs for $45 mil a year.

How long are you prepared to groom and await Dakchocka* breakout from the wildcard game?
10-12 years?

Dak has teased us for 8 years. Ipso facto magna carta the question arises:
How many Cowboys whiled away their best years waiting on Dak to get in gear?

In a league where it has never been easier to play the position, designed for parity & thus why most teams hover around .500 regardless of their talent level the OP's unshakeable fear is that it might take 10-15 years to rise above .500. ??

Just last year rookie QB's, backup QB's, journeymen & starters shipped off to other teams won enough to keep their teams afloat, make the playoffs or even win a playoff game. Goodness the luck we would need to crack the .500 barrier in a decade or decade & a half.

Completely overlooking the fact we've managed 12 wins with a guy who is for the most part is league average at best.

Good lord some people just can't let go of mediocrity in the pursuit of higher accomplishments.
Amen

When the day comes when Dak is no longer here and the Cowboys struggle to win games trying to find his replacement, that’s when he’ll be appreciated. Even the haters will see that he wasn’t the awful QB they tried to make him out to be. Things are going to be a lot worse than early playoff exits after 12 win seasons if we end up with an average, inconsistent QB if the problems we have now continue. Everyone will start missing those consistent playoff opportunities if they start becoming rare occurrences.

How long was it between Aikman and Romo? I don’t give up so easily. Dak gives the Cowboys the best chance to win right now. They’ve won 12 games 3 years in a row so aren’t too far away. A strong draft and a key trade here and there to addressing the holes and the Cowboys are right there.

Yet you have already conceded 10-15 years of losing records without Dak as the starting QB. You just run your mouth with zero introspection. You have been Dak defender number 1 for the longest time, so it makes sense for you to go down with the ship. Making the playoffs does not make a team close unless successful deep playoff runs provide tangible evidence.

.500 with no playoff wins or .731 with no playoff wins, don’t be a coward, roll the dice. Then roll them again, and again.

LOL-you wish pal. Hopefully the team makes a proper job of being terrible. The team has been in above average limbo for decades. I would rather be temporarily completely awful, because that would at least put way more pressure on the front office to provide real answers to the issues that plague the squad.

And he could be right. You have to look at who GM of this team is. I have no confidence in them getting the next franchise QB. They lucked into Romo and Dak after the years looking for Troy Aikman's look alike.

What is ironic is the same folks saying don’t trust the front office to find another capable QB are also the ones saying the front office can just make a few moves here and there and give Dak a team capable of winning a SB. Lol

the dude that chastises every person on this board for saying "I see a cloud in the sky today" is now so pessimistic on this franchise that he thinks there can be no new franchise QB in a generation.

many teams turn over 3-6 times over 15 years. SF went to a SB w Kaepernick, then garrapollo then Purdy over 10 years.

mighty pessimistic

Yea, because the 49ers have come out and said that they want Dak to try and beat them
Dallas never had a running game last year so how else did you expect them to beat SF? What were they going to say? We want pollard to beat us?

Lol yes, that's exactly what they would've said if they were worried about Dak.
