QB’s don’t grow on trees. No matter what you think of Dak, he‘s not the reason for not having much playoff success. He was 2nd in NFL MVP race for a reason. He’s that good. Once he’s gone, it could possibly be years before they break .500. This is no Chicago Bears defense in the making not with massive holes at DT and LB. Mahomes and Brady are generational type players. Picking a QB in the draft is a 50/50 crap shoot AT BEST. So many 1st round busts at that position. Casual fans don’t understand that and want Dak gone NOW. But ask them who’s going to be the QB? They think anyone they draft will be the answer right away. Not likely to happen.

I hope Dak gets extended because I know he gives the team the best chance of winning the Super Bowl. I just hope it’s a team friendly extension. Fix the running game and get a defense that can stop the run and he can easily lead this team to the Super Bowl.
Lol this is the epitome of managing from a position of weakness. Paralysis by fear of the unknown. So weak.

Dak will NEVER win a SB because no matter how good the team has been, he chokes in the big moments.

You don’t get it. Dak gives this team the best chance at winning a Super Bowl. All you haters are blinded by your intense desire to hate.

Dak’s had 8 years. He can’t even get us past the wild card round. Yes we are all blinded by his greatness

Dak's agent is Todd Francis, known around the league as one of the most ruthless agents.

He posts tweets during free agency about how his guys "always get the bag".

He demands top dollar for his clients and not one single penny less. For example, the Vikings offered Justin Jefferson just under $30 million a season on a new extension and Todd Francis basically laughed in their faces and said they will test free agency if that is the best offer the Vikes can do.

So you can forget about a team friendly deal, Dak is going to want to be the highest paid player in the NFL and not one single penny less because Todd Francis will simply say "Dak is getting his bag, the only question is if Dallas pays or if somebody else pays, but rest assured somebody is going to pay".

Maybe the Cowboys dont think Dak is worthy of being the highest paid player in the league, that is why they told Dak "go prove it this season, show us that you are worth that much".

10-15 years of sub .500 football. That’s what you’ll get.
So, you are telling all of us that unless we agree to make Dak the highest paid player in NFL history, we are doomed to a decade or more of winning 8 or fewer games every season???

And if we do agree to pay Dak more money than Mahomes as a reward for winning absolutely nothing, what exactly is going to be our expected rate of return on this investment???

How many playoff games are we winning in exchange for paying this ransom, and keep in mind the only way we are building a team around Dak is through the draft, no free agents, ever.

Rush held down the fort for 5 games with a defense that was on pace to break the 84 Bears sack record and never gave up more than 17 points during those 5 wins. If you think he’s a long-term answer then you’re completely engulfed by your hatred for Dak.
Maybe the D played great because :

1. Cooper didn’t turn the ball over
2. Cooper managed the game and the rush offense sustained momentum and used up clock giving our D time to rest
3. Cooper didn’t audible his own number or his own call ( Dak been known to do this , but does t have the mental fortitude ) and Trusted the coaches ( who many love to trash )

Result 5-1

Dak is one of the most overrated QB’s in NfL history , but facts are facts. He’s 2-5. He’s Trash

You must be out of touch with the game if you think it’s going to be easy finding a QB that can consistently lead the Cowboys to the playoffs. We’ll never see the playoffs with a QB who isn’t productive and consistent during the regular season. QBs like that aren’t easy to find which is why so many teams are looking for QBs every offseason.
Don’t buy into Dak’s PR team. They will cry and shout and yell.

I remember the years between Aikman and Romo well, sans a few individual player milestones it wasn't a fun time. Moving on from Dak guarantees nothing, except a change in direction into the super unknown. The grass isn't always greener, but at some point if you're not getting the results you want than change is needed. However, one thing to consider is the Cowboys stumbled into Romo and Dak. Had that not happened how much time would we have wasted with Paxton Lynch and Johnny Manziel who were well documented targets? Do you have confidence in the front office to find the QB of the future early in the draft? I'm not so sure.

I'm of the mindset now to just let Dak play out his contract. Let him earn his money, if he does that's a great thing for this franchise. If he doesn't, well just like the Cowboys did in free agency maybe there's a certain number they think he's worth and if that doesn't align with what he wants than so be it.

What is this finished second in mvp debate like it matters...

He had ZERO votes not like it was even remotly close. Is this what certain fans have dumbed down to making a point.. my God

Even if he finished first it doesn't matter in the end. He's not that guy and never will be
He was second in who was the Most Valuable Player in the National Football League for 2024.

This will be the 3rd time he’s played out his contract and won every time.

If you can foresee the next 10 to 15 years worth of NFL seasons, you should be running a book in Vegas.

Yeah, you’re one of those guys who just want Dak gone. You could care less about winning. There’s a few of your types here who are praying for a 0-17 season.
So you are one of the guys who say Dallas only chance and reason they win is because of Prescott but when Prescott shows his true colors in Playoffs you say it is a TEAM sport and not the QB fault...

I don't, - maybe a few - want Dallas to tank 0-17. But only insane people are OK overpaying an 8+ year proved failure. At $50M+ APY there is no such thing as a "Team friendly deal". Only a narcissist will think he is better than all other QBs in the league (including those who have won SBs) therefore should be the best paid player in the legue. Mr heeeere Eeeegooo won't cut his salary for less, so.. goodbye.

You can't sign Prescott and fix RBs and DL. But you can fix RBs, DL (LBs + NoseT) and QB through Draft and FA if you don't sign Prescott
