There's almost no illegal method to hunt feral hogs
In California, near Kern County, people jump on feral hogs from above in trees with a knife. It's considered a challenge to land a kill this way. Also, many feral pigs in Kern. And hunters covet their sweat meat.

Lots of said folks end up in hospitals as they are gored trying to land a kill blow with their Cold Steel, not nearly as fast or violent as the hog.

Smart hunters use a .44 mag. :)

Just a few weeks ago, the wife had plug some holes in a guys chest doing just that! Darwinism lost this round.......
 
Pigs also don't sweat. So the old adage, "sweating like a pig" is inaccurate. They lack sweat glands. If they overheat, they die, because their body can't adjust. That's why they roll in the mud, to cover their skin to keep cool from the sun.
Fat hogs will cut their own throats with their front hooves while trying to 'swim'
