Postgame Thoughts

Serious question: when you watch other NFL games, do you scrutinize the QBs this closely?

Because I see misses in just about EVERY game by EVERY QB.

Why is it that Dak’s mistakes are amplified and remembered more than his great plays? He had 3 TD and 0 turnovers!

It is true that other qb’s make mistakes and miss throws but not like Dak. He misses on so many it is laughable. I want to like the guy, I root for him every single week and want him to do well. He just isn’t a good thrower of the football. You have to admit that is true. His accuracy is so wildly inconsistent and it is maddening. He has some ability but is so limited. How many throws have you seen him make in the middle of the field over 20 yards downfield? The one to Amari today is the first time in almost 2 years where i’ve seen him anywhere near the middle of the field. His arm is a liability.

The problem really is that a Dak game can run the full gamut from awful plays to a couple of great ones.

That’s his problem...... he’s way too inconsistent. Think back to that earlier drive. Totally throws a dud to Brown on first and goal. Then on second and goal he runs into a sack because once again he steps back instead of stepping up into a clean pocket.

At some point he has to get more consistent IMO if you want to consider him a legit franchise QB.
“From awful plays to a couple of great ones”

LOL even the way you phrased that makes it sound like Dak was a bum for 90% of the game.

No, he wasn’t perfect. He still played a heck of a game.

I’m convinced there’s a bunch of you who ONLY watch Cowboys games. Just about every QB has plays/throws they wish they could have back every single game.

You have no clue what I want. Your link to the article has zero meaning since the refs defended their call. Just like they defended their calls on quite a few TD catching they call incomplete because of the ball touching the turf.

I do have a clue of what you want, which is you are living in denial. It’s called an actual video and you can see where the referees are before the snap and the whistle already blown. I also told you that you can view when Ladoceur does it as well and it’s all happening pre-whistle.

The NFL has admitted blown calls regularly.

Yes, it’s still a work in progress and Dak needs to keep getting better. Was Romo a finished product at age 25? How many of these WRs are in their 1st year working with Dak? Basically all of them except Beasley. Their timing isn’t perfect yet.

I feel like Gallup could’ve made a play on the last one, but you’re right, it was underthrown.

Dak is avoiding turnovers and the offense is improving. He’s 28-15 as a starter and is on pace for a 3rd straight winning season. Call him whatever you want, he’s a winner who’s made of the right stuff. If he keeps working his butt off, he’s got a real shot to be our franchise QB.

Look at Romo and Aikmans stats at 25.
Then look at the offensive staffs that coaches and tutored Troy and Aikman. Compare that to what Dak has around him. It's almost silly.

Dak just played a really good game. Is he perfect? Nope. But I'm also watching a couple of all pro vets make mistakes just now.

He needs work to on his mechanics, and I hope we have a new offensive staff around him next year. I like Moore, but the kid was his backup last year! What is he going to Dak?

You just exposed your agenda.

Dak played like a stud overall today. So sorry!
What agenda would that be?
You keep accusing me of having one, man up and say what it is or just admit you can't have an honest discussion without trying to cast aspersions on others to delude yourself into thinking your right about something.

“He misses on so many it is laughable”

Hahahahahaha what’s laughable are these silly exaggerations.

22-31, 289 yards, 3 total TD, 0 turnovers.

“SO MANY MISSES!!!” Um, try 9. He completed 71% of his passes.

Yeah Lets put someone There Who will fumble it
No lets put someone back there who can make plays and not fumble. It's pretty pitiful that we have nobody on this team that can return punts. Beasley is back there for one reason. He has sure hands. Can't believe this is even a debate. Most teams do have something in their punt return game. We have nothing. How many times today where we backed up near the end zone?

You sound like you’re either rooting against him or you only watch Cowboys games, in my opinion.

I can’t think of any other reason someone could come away with the impression that Dak was anything less than very impressive overall today.

As if an awful throw into the dirt in the 1st half SOMEHOW outweighs a gorgeous 90-yard TD strike in the 2nd half.

You’re also being unrealistic with your expectations. He’s 25 years old. He needs to keep improving.

Go back and watch a 25-year-old Tony Romo play in preseason. See if he looked like a finished product.

The article was bull manure. All centers do the same thing of adjusting the ball. It was a horse manure call.

Think he is doing anything different now? Bet not.

And your last comment of them admitting blown calls. Take the temperature of this site on that comment. They have admitted a few. But that doesn't offset the call that was completely out of line. Weekly they blow calls and are silent about them.

And what makes it out of line?

Because as the article said one of the coaches caught this erroneous movement and told the head coach, who informed the refs. Why would the refs not say something about it to the player or his coaches so they don't influence the outcome of a game?

Oh, let's wait until the last play of regulation and call this penalty.

As I said, you don't know jack beans about what I think nor was that call anything but bull manure. Now step off.

Dude really a 90 yard strike... you really can’t be serious ??

No, your just spewing off nonsense.

1. It’s clear the Commanders noticed the move, meaning that’s why the referees paid attention to it and why the DL jumped meaning, they themselves were coached to watch the issue.

2. And once again, this happened AFTER the referee WHISTLE. Ladoceur didn’t again BEFORE the whistle and no penalty was called, because he’s allowed to move pre-snap.

3. The DL JUMPED because of that move, dL either the referee blows the whistle for the DL or he blows the whistle because of the illegal movement by the DL. And he can’t blow the whistle for the DL, because the snapper caused him to jump.

That is AGAINST the rules and you questioning the motives can in no way change this fact. You complaining about consistency cannot change this fact.

You are right and make a great case for him. I do think he is a work in progress as you say. He isn't ever gonna be a 30 TD pass guy in an era where that is almost the expectation. But he can be a 20-25 guy with 5-10 rushing TD's. Most of those come off pass plays so they really should pretty much count the same.

Notice how none of the Dak worshippers are are praising Linehan for the actual call, which was actually perfect. When Dak sucks, all of the sudden its Linehan an that doesn’t know how to do his job. The whole defense bit off the play-action and Dak was going there from the beginning. All he had to do is place the ball where it was catcheable on one on one coverage.

And just as an aside, Dak actually throws that route well, if he knows he is going there. It was no different with Dez last year. Most of his catches, particularly at the end of the year were on these type of slant routes.

The one throw you can praise Dak for is the second TD by Cooper, because it was a deep route to the middle, which he always avoids like the plague. That’s what made it so shocking. It’s basically one in a million. This is Dak’s passing chart from 2016,his best year, meaning this isn’t some subjective claims:

Ironically, I think the Cooper TD today is about right where the only TD PAST 20 yards inside the hashes was in 2016.

It was a 90-yard TD pass and that’s what it will be for the rest of eternity. Sorry to break that to you.

One last time. Step off chief.

One last time. Here I go with the step. You are wrong Chief. You are just whining based on intentions. I guess the ref is supposed to call the DL for jumping the line and being off-sides even though the Centr moved illegally first.

What does Romo have to do with anything?
