A few guys like Lenoir were mild surprises but Ash is the only guy that really surprised me. We don't have a LB there but Nzeocha should be on the PS in 24 hours.
Overall there are some good developmental prospects, this year Andy Jones was a guy I thought would push for a roster spot but on this years group I think Brian Brown, Jarwin, Skipper, Lewis Neal and Marquez White are all guys that will push for a roster spot next year.
Those guys and all the compensation picks we have are the reasons I really don't care about trading conditional picks for guys right now.
I think you are right, but I wish they'd dump the Nzeocha experiment. The man has talent but he is always hurt, hasn't really shown any production to speak of, and the topper for me is that he is 27. That is getting pretty long in the tooth to base a player's future entirely on potential.I would have much preferred Jones as a LB prospect.
I thought they would only keep 2 OL prospects but I'm happy to see I'm wrong here. I was a guy that was wringing my hands about not keeping 9 OL on the 53 with all of our injury issues over there. But this was a smarter solution than what I would have come up with. Go long on the practice squad and just elevate them if anything goes wrong. Good job here even if I don't completely agree on who the 3 OL should have been.
I'm very happy that we were able to keep White and Neal. I agree that both should have a really good chance for roster spots next year. I think, it could take another year next season on the Practice squad for Jarwin but I like the kid nonetheless. Lenoir is McClay's pet cat and that's good enough for me especially since he has shown marked improvement since the start of camp.
