Because they were injured.
No, not the reason. Garrett said this before Randle injury today, and said if any of the 3 were not going to play regardless if injured or not.
He said this last Friday..
If Free goes down for any significant amount of time, I'd rather have Collins take his place over Weems. I'd rather have our 5 best on the field. I know Collins is competing with Leary for the LG job and Weems is getting all the snaps at RT, but our best 6 are the starting 5 plus Collins, and after that it's not even close. It would be a tragedy to have anyone other than those 6 on the field for a long stretch of games.
And 'air' has already taken out one of our running backs!
I guess it's a tougher competitor than I ever thought.
Eh -Randle and McFadden were already injured, MRI's and such, that's why they were ruled out - who knows if Randle would have played if he wasn't hurt. It's not a good situation, despite the damage control.
So you will be comfortable with this group of guys who aren't getting consistent reps? These aren't vets. Randle or Dunbar have no experience in being a big part of the run attack. Much different than just coming in for a few plays here and there.
sounds like to me the whole team is wimpying out
Once again....Garrett said none of the 3 were going to play. Randle was not hurt at that time.
Dunbar was hurt the day before Garrett said this. But it was already determined none were going to play. McFadden wanted to try to give it a go on Saturday, but the coaches decided to hold him out for another week.
But still none were going to play.
because 2/3 were hurt - so, Garrett's statement was kind of meaningless to begin with, that's all I was trying to point out.
this team is in trouble at running back plain and simple. sounds like to me the whole team is wimpying out
