Benson mayowa not practicing today. dealing with knee soreness. has had it all off season..... per archer

I've seen what Mayowa can do, and he's just a good player to have in the rotation. I'm more excited to see what a healthy Charles Tapper and a focused Damontre Moore can do. Let that knee rest, Benson....

.....wow. Dr. Chao et. al. gonna eat a lot of crow. Lots of people on this board too.

would not surprise me if smith starts the season on the pup list and then by midseason we will finally see him play. just an opinion. I also agree if we see smith early in preseason games he has a great chance of playing on opening day if he does not play until the third or fourth and does not see a lot of snaps then probably starts the season on the pup list. I hope that he plays a lot in preseason.

Great to see Hanna back. He and Swaim are excellent blockers.
if both of those guys are back we will be able to run a lot more two tightend sets and that lets witten more chances to catch passes instead of just blocking. it really hurt our offense in the second giants game last year not having witten in pass plays.

How much "rest" does it need?

It's been one practice.

I think Brown can be an above average CB, a guy that if you have quality CB play opposite him, you can win a title. He'll never be a lead guy type CB but a solid #2.

The Eagles might not have a solid #3 CB at this point. They put a lot of eggs in the Sidney Jones blown Achilles for the future.

PS - I do like their pick of Douglas, the kid from WVU. Again, not the ceiling of an elite CB in this league given his lack of speed, but a solid #2 or #3. I wouldn't have been opposed to the Cowboys taking him at some point. Although I like Awuzie and Lewis better.
Why do you think brown can't be a 1? I don't get comments like that. Can you breakdown why you don't think he can or that just a guess on your part?

I also think that brown is a solid number 2 corner. he does not have the top speed to be a shut down corner. if he did he would have gone higher then the sixth round. I can not wait to see awusie and lewis in preason to see how they play. to see if they can be better then brown or equal. if one of those two can be a starter opposite to brown then we will save a lot of cap money for a few seasons and not having to invest in another first round corner in the future.

For one, I think people overstate how good he really was last year. He was solid, which for a rookie, was pretty good.

Then, odds alone suggest it's a long shot that a 6th round CB develops into what is pretty rare in the NFL....... An elite, true #1 CB.

He can get too handsy at times which can hurt you in the NFL. He needs better technique as he sometimes tries to rely on his speed to make up for other issues.

I like Brown a lot and you can win a SB with a CB like him. I just don't believe he's a future Richard Sherman, Darrelle Revis, Aqib Talib, etc.

I'd love to be wrong.
