Tony Romo does.

I think we all expect to lose some games during the year.

The 72 Dolphins are the only perfect team (I am not counting the Pats since they had to cheat to get their wins), thus it is virtually impossible to go undefeated (unless you cheat like the Pats did).

When the schedule came out, I looked over it and starting counting wins and loses to see what type of record we might end up with. So I already have a list of games I expect us to win and games I expect us to lose.

The problem comes in when we start losing the games I expected to win, like Denver.

This isn't saying the right things. The right thing to say would be something like, "I've sucked it up so far. If I play even average in the two losses, we're undefeated right now. The way I played is unacceptable and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Instead, he says he doesn't know what the reporter is talking about. He makes himself out to be an idiot.

The problem is HOW they are running their routes. Laufenberg said that our recevers cannot get any seperation and they run their routes poorly.

For example, if the play is a 10 yard comeback, then the WR has to sell the deep route by running full speed and then plant that outside foot and turn hard back to the inside and sheild the defender with his body. What our guys are doing is just running lacklusterly and just rounding off that comeback and allowing the DB a chance to reach around them or go infront of them for the pass defense.

It is called effort.......it takes more effort to run a nice, crisp route an being in the best position to catch the ball. What we have here is WRs going through the motions.

So how does this affect the QB??? If the WRs are lazy in their route running or cannot get any seperation, then it is easier for them to be covered. All of a sudden the windows get tighter to throw to or the QB has to hold the ball longer waiting for the WRs to get open which causes more sacks and pressures.

Great post beast, for two reasons. For one you don't pass information you read off as your own assessment - you credit it, and two, Laufenberg has more credible football knowledge than fans. There is a difference what an experienced eye of a former professional quarterback sees at a good vantage point compared to a fan watching on television.

I don't think there is an issue that Tony must improve as well. It is perennial cliche but it still rings true, quarterbacks get too much credit for wins in games and too much blame in losses.

Part of that is the football mentality, you lose a game or two okay. Sometimes it happens at different times, but now it's time to improve, go forward and win. And that's what we're going to do."

I would have to take his word for it as well.

But how many times have we seen Romo miss open receivers so far this season? Williams got hurt because of it, Witten had a fluke pick off his foot, he's overthrown Austin a few times, and Crayton a few in the Bucs and Denver games.

Like I said I'll take Babe's word for it, but I think if Romo would hit them when they're open more than he is, we're not having this conversation thats all.

Agreed. The Austin overthrows would have been touchdowns, the Hurd and Williams misfires, including another to WIlliams in this past game on a crossing pattern he threw behind him, would have been drive sustainers. More importantly, if he connects on these throw, they would have inspired more confidence in Romo and the receivers themselves.

The problem is that everybody expected the Broncos to suck this year and they haven't. Their defense has played WAY better than anyone expected it to and Orton has played very well. Everyone was ranking them near the bottom before the season started and while I don't think they are an elite team, they have certainly played well above everyone's expectations.

Maybe we took them lightly, maybe we didn't prepare as well for them as we would have if we thought they were going to be that good. They didn't exactly blow us out and if not for a couple of plays we would have won that game.

Poor tackling, poor blocking, poor route running, poor passing, poor coaching and preparation, etc... it all added up to a loss.

Denver is ALWAYS a tough place to play and so is KC. We had better be prepared to come out this Sunday and play our guts out or we could easily be 2-3 and in a bad place in the division. 3-2 and we will be OK.

He was when he had a future HOF WR to throw too and a stud TE. Until he proves otherwise. He is an average QB at best.

I dont like his response where he refers to reporters specifically "you guys". He did that last year when they were getting to him. BIG mistake IMO.

He does tell us "all this junk". Romo is saying things he doesnt believe.

No one is saying he has to go out and play perfect. This is a problem in his mind. Blowing the game by chucking/floating INT's out there in bunches is not the opposite of a perfect game. Its just whack.



Tony is playing "whack" and he wont come to grips with it.


Also, having a short memory is good in most cases..... perhaps not for our Tony though. He needs to remember that HE is the reason for the 2 losses. Yes, he has THAT MUCH power during these games.

Tony Romo hasn't thrown a TD pass in the last 2 games. You know who also has not thrown a TD pass in the last 2 games? Drew Brees, the QB annointed by the most people on this forum as the best in the NFL. The only differences are Drew is playing for an undefeated Saints team and is not a Dallas Cowboy.

To be honest, I bet most people thought we could lose to the Giants. So in reality, at this point, the only surprise is losing to the Denver Broncos, who are 4-0.

I thought the only game we could lose was to the Giants but since it was in our house I honestly thought we would be 4-0 right now. 2-2 is unacceptable, but it is the NFL, nothing is ever a given. I just don't understand the hand wringing and I don't think I want to either.
