Even all of that I dont blame him for this season. Issue is this bizarre front office.
Agreed brother this season was totally on the front office but I believe in previous seasons we have gone as far as we can go with him.
He just cannot prepare a team to win in the playoffs.
In the regular season he's quite adequate at beating up on bad teams and piling up a bunch of stats but when everybody's good he comes up very small

I think scenario "C" is the most likely one of the choices mentioned to actually materialize. Jerry will opt for experience and someone who will be willing to tolerate his managerial deficiencies. Admitting to incompetence as a GM isn't something Jerry's overblown ego is about to allow. ;)

If Jerry were a true GM he would know that wholesale changes need to be made starting with an infusion of innovative, energetic coaches; some legitimate playmakers signed to support Dallas’ newly-extended “franchise” QB who is a system QB in disguise; and being aggressive in FA to shore-up weak position groups and supplement the talent infusion via the draft.

But these are the Jones’ we are talking about, who like to think they’re football guys. So they will proclaim they will evaluate all facets of the team’s performance to determine if changes need to be made, but will be constrained by the salary cap relative to player acquisition and that “we like our guys.”. Jerry will reiterate his desire to win a Super Bowl and be “all in” again in 2025 because 2024 would have been a great season if not for injuries…ignoring the fact that his Cowboys are not as talented as he thinks they are and are nowhere near “hanging around the rim” of any type of playoff victory.

So…Jerry will re-hire MM and Zimmer because they wouldn’t cut it coaching for another team; and what other coach worth their salt would tolerate Jerry’s meddling and the distractions interfering with the team’s practice and preparation?

It is frustrating when the majority of the fan base knows changes need to be made, yet the FO decides to maintain the status quo, even when it is evident change is needed. In what world does it make sense to pass up on a physical RB like Henry for a washed-up Zeke who is used sparingly and waived right before the last game of the season; or burning draft picks on players who they won’t play, or could not crack the starting line-ups of their former teams? Does Jerry’s narcissism and ego know no bounds; is he that clueless?

Jerry is resistant to change, unless of course there are negative financial implications. After all he is a business man first and foremost…he certainly is not a football GM.

The bottom line is that Jerry let JG languish for 8 years; then it’s a no brainer the current coaches get new contracts without a news conference or other media coverage.

Something to consider…what if Jerry offers MM and Zimmer contracts yet they both decline? What does that say about Jerry and his Cowboys if these coaches, whose employment options are probably limited, opt to look elsewhere?

A. Might have said C, but I don't think even Jerry is silly enough to hire Witten.

FWIW, I don't think Witten is anything like Campbell. Just because they both played TE doesn't mean their personality is at all the same. Remember, Witten was extremely unimpressive in his short announcer gig.

The press conference vibes from the coordinators posted yesterday made me think they both believe they're gone.

Mike and Zimmer will each get a 3 year deal. Jerry hates change. We saw that with Garrett and also when he didn't fire McCarthy after the terrible playoff loss to GB.
When you think about it Dallas is not a desirable place for a highly sought after coach because of salary cap issues and not having full control of players and coaching staff personnel decisions. They won't get credit for success and worst of all they are saddled with Dak.
Jerry will just stay with what he knows until Dak is gone.

I'm starting to think that Jerry is losing his faculties. Some of his public comments over the past 12 months have been rather unhinged and show no depth of understanding.

As such, I'm going to vote for the dumbest possible option and hope to be wrong.

Either B or C... both represent paths of least resistance and are consistent with past behavior.

One thing you can expect is Jerry making a splash during SB week.

I think B probably happens with a decent shot at C. It will most definitely be a retread, probably an old retread like Pete Carroll or Rex Ryan.

Whatever happens, I don’t want a past coach(Moore) or player(Witten) returning at all. I think this teams best bet over the next few years is through the defense and a ball-controlled offense. Give me a good, defensive minded HC and make that unit elite.
I think this is the first time I've seen Ryan mentioned, but I can definitely see Jerry going for him. Same as the McCarthy move. Unearth an experienced coach who had success many many years ago. Not in high demand so he will settle for a short contract and whatever other submissions Jerry forces on him. Get the best out of our best players (Micah). Get the boys in the news.

E. Does it really matter. The streak getting to 30 years will be what’s on the table with an organization keen on having any success vs quality teams and playoff wins.

My heart is telling me they are going to let MM walk, bring in Vrabel or another experienced HC and load up for one last time while Jerry is around. They put those void years in Dak's and CD's contracts for a reason. I think how they handle this offseason will tell me once and for all how much Jerry cares about winning. I think I already know the answer, but they can take big hits on the CAP and reset in 2026, or they can move money around and try to go for it.

My brain is telling me Jerry is old and doesn't like change, so he will bring MM back.

I will be shocked if Jerry does anything quickly. He seems to enjoy dragging this stuff out as long as possible. That doesn't mean MM will not sign elsewhere, but I think that is a strong possibility.

The right answer is for Jerry to make a quick decision, get his coaching staff on board and immediately begin preparations for free agency and the draft. Jerry has his own way of doing things. He has already tipped his cards saying he is under no pressure to do anything about McCarthy.

As I have said before, I think Jerry is in a state of mental decline - which accelerates with age. He seems more stubborn now and more determined to prove his is right. This is also a sign of decline, as he tries to prove to himself he is as sharp as he was in the past. We are dealing with someone who could be unpredictable, and possibly irrational. In other words we probably need more options to choose from, including some that may seem ridiculous.

C IMO.

PS. Like flushing a toilet with a known leak. You think you flushed the bad stuff away, but there is still a hint of stink behind because the Jone's boys are still ruining the show. .

Mike gets another 5 year deal. Mike is allowed to rehire his staff including Zim. Trey Lance is not retained. The draft becomes the priority.

Great points. Prickly stubbornness can be a sign of mental decline. Hard to know for sure.

Although it’s highly unlikely, I hope that Jerry and SJ have someone they can take advice from on how to restructure and rebuild this roster. They have shown for three decades they are over their head when it comes to cap management and roster building of a championship quality team.

We all know JJ is never going to step aside until he sings with the choir eternal. I just wish there was an advisor they could bring in to help them manage the cap at the very least. It’s highly unlikely I know, but without help or a major infusion of good fortune from Lady Luck, this team is not set up to be a contender on its current path.
