I think this may already be done for the most part. I was listening to Gil Brandt on late hits tonight and he said that he was pretty certain he would sign with Dallas and mentioned the same thing that his dad is here and the fact that he was a former Dallas player.

Look for something to be done by the end of business on Monday.

Brooking and Kitna are solid moves, we know what we're gonna get from them. Same with Springs if we pull the trigger.

If the Cowboys plan to play Springs at safety and use his versatility and not block Mike Jenkins or Orlando Scandrick, I'm for getting him at the right price. If they are looking at him as a cornerback only, it's a stupid move. I have to believe they want to play him at safety.

The problem is Ken Hamlin at SS. He can't play the run. He looks like he is trying to avoid contact and takes bad angles to the ball.

Springs has been prone to injury. Perhaps, playing free safety will keep him from getting banged up.

Big, talented corners that know how to stop the run tend to get moved to FS at the end of their careers. Mel Renfro, Rod Woodson, etc.

If I can be near my terminally ill father I play there. I wouldn't care if it was the worst team in NFL History and the paycheck was nothing.
