Not just these days, always.

Calvin Hill
Brandon "The Blocker Magent" Noble
Norv Turner
Deion Sanders
et al

I can't think of a former Commanders who came here off the top of my head.

Dean Hamel and Timmy Smith are two who come to mind.

Good memory on both.

Not many though. Post more often. We need memories like that.

Who was the last Commander we signed of any note? They all seem to go from Dallas to Washington these days.

"Hail to the Commanders" came over to Dallas for a spell, but went back.

I'm not. He's willing to play here over any other place and an earlier report I had on money being the issue is apparently not the case.

No, you're going out onto a limb.:D

But I like visionaries.:)

I dont' think Dallas will sign Springs, they'll add a CB in the draft.
we're also talking to another FA corner so i'm sure we will grab one in FA

Sounds like St. Louis wanted to keep him.

Dec. 22 - 3:33 pm et
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams have "made clear their desire" to retain contract-year DBs O.J. Atogwe and Ronald Bartell.
Atogwe and Bartell have by far been St. Louis' best defensive backs this season, but they will probably end up losing one to free agency. Atogwe, 27, is a candidate for the franchise tag. Bartell, 26, has excelled in zone coverage and will be among the top free agent corners if he hits the 2009 market.

If we sign Springs I think Bartell won't be brought in for a look.

I know this is a little late into the thread but I'm right there with you Hos. It's funny because I was out all day and a friend tells me we've signed Brooking and cut Henry. This was the first thing that popped into my mind.

Springs won't be bad at all as a 3rd or 4th cb however, I'm a little worried about Brooking. He was definately a baller at one point but does he have anything left? I guess it's the same thing you'd get with Ray Ray only cheaper and quieter. lol

Why does everybody want a "quiet" team? The Steelers are one of the most loud mouth, trashtalking, dirty teams in the NFL and they won. This is the new school of professional sports. If you want quiet go watch Tiger Woods play golf. Ray is twice the player Brooking is. Dont let the tackle stats fool you.

Oh crap, the obvious one...Eddie LeBaron.

another memorable odd case was: Duane Thomas.

A Cowboy who eventually became a Commander, only to return to Dallas (although he failed to make the team his second time around, if I remember correctly).

... Jean Fugett was yet another of those Cowboys to Commanders examples.

Nice afternoon.

Brooking and Kitna are solid moves, we know what we're gonna get from them. Same with Springs if we pull the trigger.

This is going to make drafting that much easier. 13 picks, we could seriously make some moves.
13 picks? What am I missing?

SHAWN SPRINGS VISITING THE PATS

Posted by Mike Florio on February 28, 2009, 10:59 p.m.

Veteran cornerback Shawn Spring could be the latest member of the Patriots’ thirtysomething defense.

The 12-year veteran, cut by the Commanders in the wake of the Albert Haynesworth signing, will visit the Pats on Sunday, according to Shalise Manza Young of the Providence Journal.

Free-agent cornerback Leigh Bodden visited the Pats on Friday, but reportedly left without a contract.

I think if the Pats want him, they'll get him. And they've recently freed up a ton of cap room with the Matt Cassel trade.

Now we'll see how badly he wants to come to Dallas.
