Twitter: Prescott deal not close

And, if we’re all being honest, this is EXACTLY how this whole process should’ve played out. No matter what side of the Dak argument you are on, it seems we all were wanting the same thing - to see Dak prove how good he is on a consistent basis. Keep playing like he has, he’s gonna be paid TOP QB $$$. Falls off? Then he won’t. It’s that simple.

You know, negotiating through the media leads to a ton of misinformation for the fans. I don't think it really matters to those involved, but it leads to some pretty interesting divisions among fans. And I may be off on the numbers, but I remember a lot of fans around here balking at $25 million per for Prescott and I'm not sure if Dallas ever tried to low ball him to that extent, but it's laughable to think some fans were complaining about $25 million. Every week we wait, that number is going up and there is no alternate universe where Dak doesn't get resigned.

"They're close!"
"They're not close!"
"It's happening soon!"
"Nothing's happening."
"A deal is imminent!"
"They're so far apart."

Wake me when the deal actually occurs. I've spent way too much time the past few months on this.

Yep. The Cowboys couldn't have signed Dak earlier because he wouldn't have signed. With the agent he signed with they were never going to give an early discount.

I wouldn't budge off 32 million no matter what.
Even if it meant looking seriously that the 2020 QB draft class.

Dak’s really gonna end up getting $35-40M/per isn’t he.

Let’s see how he plays the rest of the year as our schedule strengthens.

time for me to go on social media and delete everything cowboys related again im not going through this crap again

He doesn’t have any basis to request a salary higher than Russel Wilson, period.

He’s just gonna have to learn that if he really wants to get paid, he better focus on winning a SB..

Probably damn close.

That will push Mahomes to 45-50.

Jones has plenty of money and maybe he knows something we don't regarding the new CBA. Partial exemption for home grown players or QB's possibly. Luxury tax? Who knows?

Dak knows that he’d lose nearly all leverage if he acted like DLaw or Zeke...

He’d immediately lose several million for any insubordinate behavior...

The ONLY weapon he has is winning.

Otherwise, we could just franchise him and worry about it later.. Probably the most pragmatic approach without a SB unless Dak accepts < 35..

He knows damn well he’s not replacing 15 million worth of Cowboys endorsements on another team..

Early discount?

He couldn't sign anything until this year.

Actually, he does. He will be a free agent at the end of the year and this isn't his 3rd contract. Wilson could have earned far more on the open market but already having had a giant payday, he opted for a more team friendly deal.

How can he make more than Russel?

How much does the second franchise tag get him?

Yep. He'll end up in that range. Then Mahomes blows everyone away.

Then the Eagles probably re-do Wentz just on principle.

And I believe. This is exactly how Prescott wants it.
