Let's see what happens in January.

This won't be popular but for as good as he has played at times this year, if he and the team come up small in the postseason again, I have issues tying ourselves to this guy (and likely this coach) for 3-4-5 more years.
Get ready because Dak will be there for at a minimum 5 more years of disappointment. It’s a done deal it just how much Dak can screw Jerry for since he holds all the cards, in 4 years Dallas will be in the same position. Jerry says Dak is elite and wouldn’t trade him for any other QB and this is a SB caliber team. The no trade clause will stay and all we will hear is the cap means nothing and Dak just doesn’t have the talent around him to succeed, just wait it’s coming. MM is getting a huge extension too

structure it like ohtani did.....

let's see who wants to win
If only they could do that in the NFL. MLB has no cap and contract parameters are far less stringent.

Bobby Bonilla has been out of MLB for over 20 years and he's still getting paid by the Mets.

Just like his last contract was outrageous, this one also is, but also inline with market value. Once again 2 years from now it will look like a bargain, while the likes of the guys in Indy and Houston top that easily. Problem is look at KC, Iggles and others who had to pay their QB's and it didn't allow them to sign other key players once their contracts are up. We have to pay 88, 11 and others so if you expect us to be able to go on the open market to fill our glaring gapes on OL, DT, and LB you can dream until the cows come home

That's great news.

His cap hit will be around $25 million in 2024 rather than the near $60 million that is currently set and around $35 million in 2025.
Not exactly. The absolute lowest you can get Dak's 2024 cap hit with an extension is around $36 million before signing bonus, which ended up prorating to $13.2 million per year with his current deal.

A new deal might get his cap hit down to somewhere in the $40-50 million range next year, but that's it.

So I'm not sure how the cap works, but how can Dallas afford all these contracts? Dallas just re-signed Diggs this season for 5 years for 97 million, that's 19.4 million a season. Parsons will surpass Bosa's contact who is making 24.5 million a year, Lamb will be making over 20 million a season. How will all this work if Dak gets 55-60 million a season?

Also, this will most likely be another 4-5 year contract, making it Daks last contract for Dallas unless you think Dak plays until his late thirties

I don't know what more you can get out of the position. Realistically, we're most likely not replacing the QB w/ a better player.

If Prescot ever wants to earn a ring in Dallas, then he needs Tom Brady as his agent. Brady will get him a decent contract and at the same time will leave enough money on the table for the championship pieces that will be needed to get that ring and a SB trophy. Brady didn't suck NE 's cap space dry and it paid off big time for him. Otherwise, he'll just go down as just another money-grubbing greedy slap dick like Kurt Cousin and we all know how Cousin's career has turned out.............

It’s gonna be funny watching Mayfield dog walk him in the Wild Card round and then he signs this ridiculous extension.
The only thing I ever saw Mayfield do that looked close to a dogwalk was when he tried to run from the police... which the video of was completely hilarious btw.

A QB that doesn't scuffle in big games/playoff games other than when he plays Philadelphia.

It's certainly not all his fault in these big games but Dak sure doesn't play his best more often than not in big games.

They cant afford to pay Dak mega millions in 2024.

Their 2024 cap is already underwater.

That's one of the reasons he could be cut.
