He deserves to be paid the going rate of the top 10 QB's of the league. I don't know what that number is, but if it's 50 million that's what he should get. I don't think he should be the highest, but I wouldn't argue with top 5. I wouldn't give him anything more than 3 years, and I'd structure it so it's easy to get out of it without eating tens of millions. It's all in how the contract is structured. What is obvious is we need a young quarterback to groom out of the draft. Preferably a guy that can throw, and run.

Unfortunately we are at the mercy of Dak. He has all of the power in this negotiation. Trading for Trey Lance, no matter what some of our fans think, is not leverage. It was a waste of money and a 4th round pick.

That’s just depressing. How has he been lights out all season? He struggled the first 5 games getting into the end zone. Defense scored and made plays for him. He did tear it up when we played lesser teams and then going on the road we’re 3-5.

If they say Dak has been lights out at home after the bye against struggling teams : accurate statement

Dak has been lights out all season: inaccurate statement.

they were closer to 0-17 than 17-0 lololololololol
I don't know why some of those posters always bring that game up like it was some sort of great feat. But, that's all they got to make them happy, the same way they get happy when Dak and the Boys beat up the little kids in the parking lot...it makes them all giddy.

We can not win a Super Bowl with a QB making a lot less.
Oh, are you saying to pay Dak mo money, mo money, mo money, then he will win the SB? What kind of logic is that?

The part that really baffles me is that there will be people on this board who will cheer for him to get as much as he can.. as if that helps the team? Like as a fan who wants the best chance of winning a SB, shouldn't we all be cheering that any one individual on the team gets as little as possible so we can sign the best talent possible?
Thank you StarLord, crazy isn't it?

I am committed to Prescott. I am also committed to the fact the GM Jerry will not commit to building the trenches.

Then we will start to wonder why Dak keeps getting hurt.
I don't see where you are committed to the Cowboys?

Hard to build the trenches if you pay your QB an average of 60 million/year.

Before the Cowboys decide to give Dakota P. this type of an extension, they should take a look at the Kansas City Chiefs. They are in a major bind right now in terms of salary cap flexibility, largely due to extending Mahomes to the richest contract in football. Of course, he is deserving of it, Mahomes is already an All-Time Great and still has many years ahead of him hopefully. The problem is he doesn't have much help on offense; besides Travis "Swifty" Kelce, Justin Watson and Pacheco it seems like no one else can catch the football lol. The WR's they currently have are dreadfully bad because they can't afford to pay for good WR's. Just imagine if Dak was passing to guys like Kadarius Toney, Sky Moore and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Lol, how many games can Dak win with weapons like that?? The amazing part is, the Chiefs are currently 9-6 and first place in their division. The Cowboys with much better weapons at their QB's disposal, are only ONE GAME BETTER {10-5}. Moving forward, like Mahomes, DAK MUST LEARN TO BE BETTER WITH LESS HELP.. It's the price you pay when you're paid most of the HAY {$$$$}.**

Honestly, he already has made enough money to live comfortably and more for the rest of his life.
Why should he demand every last dollar when in the end its in his best interest not to? to help keep the team or build it better?
.... Exactly, that's why I made some of those points. He already made enough money to last two liftemes and some.
And I doubt that that would ever want to be traded since Dallas has taken him well.
