you were doing well. until the church of dak B$. Like why go through the effort of making a logical, rational, quality post that might actually convince someone of something and then throw in potshots.
First of all thanks for your kind words. Genuinely, appreciate the honest feedback.

I guess respectfully I would say that's a loose term I employ to describe a small sub section of fans who will go to any length to absolve Dak from any responsibility for the teams struggles. I would describe the OP as a Church of Dak type post. Basically saying that not only is Dak's play not an issue, but that he is almost singlehandedly making the team respectable. Thats how i read the OP. My comment could be rightly interpreted as a pot shot against that mentality

If you are not of that mentality it wasn't aimed in any way at you and I hope it didn't seem that it was.

Thanks again. Good discussion

Last week Rush was rusty but this week his play was close to Dak without the financial burden. I’d take Rush and save the $60MM/year until we can draft a real QB. The thought of Dak playing next year at any high level (during the regular season because we know he’ll stain his pants in the playoffs) is laughable.

Of course he did. Any other team than the Jerry Jones mismanaged clusterfark and he wouldn’t have reached 10% of the $340 million or whatever over the same time period.

Anyone crapping on Dak just needs to watch the Pittsburgh game where he hard carried us on the road. This roster is pitiful and we beat the Steelers with all our defense hurt.
You’re wasting your time bringing up the Steelers game, the Dak haters will just keep bringing up the playoff loss to Green Bay. For every game we won because of Dak they’ll bring up a loss and blame it entirely on him.

The Romo & Witten myth keeps getting better and oddly achieving over the years.....Jerry and many here think they actually won something.

Yeah with a roster that is 3x better than the one he has now.

PLEASE stop it with the RUSH WAS 5-1!!!!!!!! crap, like that even matters. that was several years ago and the team around him is vastly different.
The problem is that goes for Dak too. "Dak MVP" was clearly him riding on how good he's had it.

fair enough. I’m used to guys here referring to everyone with broad strokes. op and the ilk are fitting so no harm no foul

It was him that kept this team together for the last few seasons
If it wasn’t for him, it would be like it is now just for a longer period of time
Maybe people finally give him the credit he deserves
. Top 10 quarterback since he’s been in the league.
Yeah, go ahead. I don’t care. I know it really happens out there on the field.
I'll still go ahead and say he's a decent QB, usually. On a better team and healthy he'd be 6-4

prescott was a good as the roster. the roster elevated his play not vice versa.
For every game the Cowboys lose, it is the fault of something wrong with the rest of the team. Every time the Cowboys win a game, oh, Prescott is the best QB around....(until they lose another game, then the team, coaches, water boy, every body sucks except the real loser). Oh, but he won a Steelers game, he must be absolved from all his other crappy games like the Green Bay game.

Cowboys on three! 1...2...(or for the Dak lickers), no 3.

You don't care haha. That's why you made this thread. Stirring crap up.

Not even worth going into the Dak nonsense.

Football is a team sport, always has been. QB's look all word when they have a supporting cast and like dog poop when they don't. Really strong cast in certain areas can cover up deficiencies. You've got to be able to run the ball and stop the run this league. Dallas is the worst in the league at both and their record reflects that.

3-5 with him before he was handed an out and took it.

2-5 in the playoffs. The worst record ever for a QB with at least 5 starts.

Dak fans are clueless.
The op's point was that we were not THIS bad with Dak........................how do you get a 2-5 record in the playoffs?.......................You have to be in the playoffs multiple times.

This year you dont have to worry about that, we will be lucky (or unlucky depending on if you are on team tank) to win another game this year.

Dak may not be the greatest and he has most certainly not played well in the playoffs, but the OP's point is that you have to get to the playoffs to lose in the playoffs.

Now some fans, including you, may say that winning 12 games and losing in the first round is no different than going 3-14. Some fans would agree with this, some fans wont, just the way it is.
