I give him credit though ... he is still here posting, even though its last ditch efforts to make Dak look like a top 10 QB. Haven't seen some of the others in weeks. They will be back I am sure once Dak is back and beats up on the first bottom feeder he faces.
It’s funny seeing the 3 or so fans left trying to defend Dak after the more notable Dak over Dallas fans have jumped ship and quit posting.

I guess some of the B Team Dak over Dallas fans think it’s their time to shine now lolol

Dak won with pro bowl talent around him. Cooper Rush won with pro bowl talent around him.

Dak looks horrible without pro bowl talent around him. Cooper Rush looks horrible without pro bowl talent around him.

Cooper Rush salary: $2.25mm

Dak Prescott salary: $60mm
this is what they don't get - They wanted him to get paid for some weird reason like he know's who they all are and care about them.

Rush barely passed for over 100 yards during that win streak. If Rush was what yall tried to make him out to be, he would pull off another 5 game win streak, but he isn't capable without that defense that CARRIED him through that win streak.

With that said, I do appreciate Rush's contributions as a decent backup quarterback.
Interesting comment... That was 2022 if I'm not mistaken. Pro-football-reference.com says he started 5 games in 2022 and threw for 1051 yards. You know what that averages out to, right? It's more than 100 yards. I really don't care that you want to trash Rush in defense of Dak, but at least try to provide stats that are a little bit more accurate.

Have you ever wondered that if Dak was as good as his supporters like yourself claim he is, there wouldn't be a need to constantly defend him?

Speculate about the past. Relish 2-5. It's done. No relevance to the future.

He's slow on the read, slow to react, holds the ball, inaccurate, and looks like a Parkinson's patient trying to run.
$60M well spent

I see it as performing to expectations. He was never projected to be a franchise QB, and the problem from Day 1 has been that is the expectation. Dak has always and will always require top-tier talent to succeed. A couple of playoff wins would be overachieving, and given the chess pieces he has....no Grand Master is in his future
Yeah, name a quarterback that doesn’t need the same around him. And don’t say Mahomes because that’s foolish.

So it wasn't him who slid in a playoff game with zero time outs vs running out of bounds? So every playoff game we lost was not his fault? Let me guess the 2 games he won was all him... you are something.
There was another game where we need to run out the clock and he throws it out of bounds. :banghead:

Dak beat a younger Russell with a better Seattle team than the Russell with the Steelers.... There's that! So what you're saying isn't necessarily accurate my friend.

The Cowboys were the superior team that playoff game and Dak made in my opinion his very best play as a Cowboy that day (with that critical scramble towards the end).

The Steelers were the superior team on this year’s game (major turnover difference), but the Cowboys won because Justin Fields is a running back playing QB. Russell is a QB that can run, and their offense looks and performs much better with him in it.

You guys get too emotional over the respect you want fellow Cowboys fans to give Dak Prescott. He’s been a good solid QB. He’s in the class of QB’s like Kirk Cousins, Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, Alex Smith, etc. I can see that he’s been a good solid QB, but I can also see that his play is declining. The thread was created to try to make the point that the team has somehow been almost completely dependent on his excellence to generate points these past 3 seasons. What is evident to me is how dependent the team has been on high end pass blocking-and now it isn’t and all the QBs are at the mercy of the opposing team’s pass rush.

LOL-the offensive line that was built for Romo built the legend of Dak. They slowly deteriorated and two starters left with Martin backsliding and Terrence put to pasture. That’s the engine for all the success on offense these past 9 years and this is what you get when the line is poor like the early 2010’s. Dak’s just a guy-solid QB with great surrounding talent that can put up lots of points and stats against the worst and mediocre defenses. Baker Mayfield, Kirk Cousins, Geno Smith, Alex Smith type dude. And now his age and health are becoming a big issue with his level of play. Delude yourself as necessary.
Excellent post, brother

I don't know who the "you guys" are when talking about getting emotional over the respect or lack of respect for Dak because that doesn't apply to me....

With that said, I believe in consistency when talking about players. We can't sit here and hold one player accountable for losses or wins, and then cherry pick excuses for other players who play the same position and they win or lose.

(For some reason sometimes it's a team game and sometimes it's all on one player)

The Dallas Cowboys beat a good Steelers team this year. You said that Wilson didn't play, but guess what.... we were missing players and we also have a limited offense with only one good receiver and ZERO good running backs.

But we still beat a good Steelers team. We don't know if Russell Wilson would have led them to a win over us because Dak has been on teams that has beaten a Russell led team before.

* Please don't mix up "emotional" with actual facts. Respectfully....

Yeah, the Cowboys beat a good Steelers team, and even a blind squirrel can find a nut. Beating them does not prove a damn thing, they suck and will suck for a long time when the gimp comes back next year hollering, "Here we go...!"

I'm on record here FULLY in support of Rush and appreciation for his contributions as a backup. So that "trash Rush" myth is dead....

Second, I don't have to defend Dak. He's not elite but being a top 10 quarterback his whole career, becoming an All-Pro and MVP candidate speaks for itself. Again, we all know he isn't elite.

Then you said provide stats? Well I would love to provide stats, but I was told stats don't matter. Maybe you can enlighten me my fellow Cowboys brethren.....

Do stats matter or not? Because if stats matter, I can give you stats showing why many here "aren't accurate" in their assessments about Dak.

Would I like to move on from Dak at this point? Absolutely. Do I think we should be in the market of immediately drafting his replacement? Absolutely. With that said, I'm not going to lie on his abilities as a quarterback as many do here.

It's amazing how much he's called a bum, below average, people compare Rush to him (which is an All Time dumb comparison) etc, etc.... yet these things said about him don't "accurately" line up with his career win percentage, career QBR, his yards, his becoming an All-Pro, MVP consideration.....

So the point of this post is, I've supported Rush, I'm ready to move on from Dak, but I don't have to lie about his abilities as an NFL quarterback. Dak is a pretty good quarterback but we need more than that. If you consider stating real life facts/production/stats as defending Dak, then I don't know what to tell you.

I clearly stated where I stand, so good luck to anyone who tries to put a twist or spin on my words.

This is very true. We will definitely be bad next year because the whole team is broken. This is not ground breaking news...

I don't believe even Mahomes himself could lead THIS current team to the playoffs. No one player could lead THIS team anywhere near the playoffs.

* In no way am I comparing Dak to Mahomes

Jesus, the delusion with this fanbase makes me embarrassed to even be a part of it. Prescott is the reason we're in this mess to begin with! It's because of him we've been cap strapped the last 4 years, and for the next 3 years. When he was starting he wasn't even a top 10 QB this season and he's the top paid QB.
almost 30 years and some still dont know the problem with this franchise? Jones is the reason we are in this mess and will be the reason we continue to be in this mess...

Whatever Dak did in the past, it's the past. Nobody in their right mind should have envisioned a great future.
Waste of $60M.

Jerry was channeling Haslam when he signed that deal

His 2-5 playoff record would have him top 5 on the all time Jaguars Qb list...so there's that

Somewhere between Blake Bortells and David Garrard
Haven't the Jags been farther than the Jerry Jones GM'd Cowboys in the playoffs the last 30 years? We have to be really careful about who we look down on these days....Thanks Jerry!!!

If that was a playoff game, we all know how that ends.
