Dak had a defense that actually made stops and played well in the playoffs and an O-line that protected. That's not to say that Dak wasn't really good. But that's the difference. Romo didn't have those in the playoffs.

Dak has tied Romo's playoff wins in half the number of years. Romo never advanced beyond the division around. If Dak can get one more playoff win and advance to the NFC championship game, the Prescott-Romo debate can be put to bed forever.
Good post season start, now let's finish this with a Super Bowl! That would definitely put any debate to bed. Rally around Dak and the boys!!

Dak and Romo both have 2 playoff wins, but Dak beat the GOAT on the road.....................Romo never won a playoff road game.

Tiebreaker goes to Dak, he is the best playoff QB we have had since Aikman.

I do wonder, Dak took heat because he replaced Romo and once he got healthy and people wanted him back in the line up. So my Question is should San Fran put Purdy on the bench in favor of Jimmy G? Personally I would ride with Purdy if it were my call
It is 2023 not 2016 and Dak is not Rodgers.

That is a fair assessment.

I give Dak all the credit in the world. He balled last night. Best game ever.

That said, tap the brakes, Stans. He won a 1st round game against a 8-9 team.

In 2009 Romo and the Cowboys destroyed the Eagles in the 1st round, only to get trounced the following week by Minnesota. Let's see how Dak does in SF.

Oh also, Romo actually started for about 8 1/2 years, minus injuries and starting as a 3rd stringer.

Don't try so hard..Dak will get his due if and when he gets us over the hump.
Agreed but exactly what hump did Romo get us over?

Romo dragged the team out of the QB hell that was the post Aikman era. Watching Cowboy football was full of hope again when he emerged so I will always be thankful for that. Dak took the reigns when Tony couldn't give the team anymore and has kept the team relevant. I appreciate both. Dak has enjoyed consistently better defenses than Tony ever had is the main difference I see and I think that plays a part in why you don't see the wild swings in team record anymorem

that is the key, TB looked awful in that game.
todd bowles was a good DC, but he is a awful HC, and now his DC duties seem affected by also being HC.

Dallas will now think they can do the same to the other teams, so this next one in SF will be a good test.
winning a WC game against a team like TB, is nothing to get excited about.

Romo never played on defense. We seem to lose sight of the fact that TEAMS win championships. QBs get too much of the blame when the team loses - and too much credit when the team wins. I’ve YET to see a QB catch all of his own passes, much less launch them without the protection of their line.

Sure, it’s the marquee position - but these QBs don’t excell in a bubble.

While Dak played a hell of a game he's still nowhere near Romo in talent. Unless he continues playing like this for numerous years to come then we can talk.

Bar a year or two Dak has had a Ferrari of a team(plus coaching for the most part) compared to what Romo ever had

Romo had some juice - he made plays but not enough to overcome the team around him. If the Cowboys lost during his tenure - look somewhere else to place the blame. Because, when #9 retired - he pretty much held ALL the franchise passing records. It’s like blaming Jerry West for the Lakers inability to get by the Celtics.

And you stans cry and wonder why Dak gets so much hate smh
OH....sorry. We didn't realize you guys didn't want to talk about this anymore.

Gotcha.

It is only when the stats are in your favor do you want these kinds of comparisons. I think back to the 2 weeks' worth of data showing our 3rd down success rate in the Tim Tebow range. Then ya'll didn't want to talk about it anymore magically....

Too funny.
