Dak does not feel comfortable throwing the ball downfield from the pocket, and he doesn't see the deep middle from there at all. If he does go deep from the pocket, it's on go routes down the sideline or an occasional in route. Otherwise, he only likes to go downfield when he rolls out. He doesn't have the arm strength for a deep out.
If it were really about arm strength, the QB with the strongest arms would dominate. Guys like Cutler (73.1) and Flacco (76.2). Those are their career ratings at 15+ yards.

Thanks for doing this. I consider 10-19 yards an "intermediate pass," which I think Dak has shown he is very good at. Interestingly enough, I thought it was also Romo's best pass his first couple of years. Typically, living in this range is where I feel QBs who can make a living as a starter need to live, and Dak checks that box very well.
I agree, but I'd stretch his comfort zone to 25 yards.

His 21-30 yd targets, from ESPN/Elias:
12 of 29 326 yd 5 td 0 int 123.0

Most of the above damage was done from 21-25 yards.
His 21-25 yd targets, from Sturm (no yardage available):
8 of 16 3 td 0 int

I actually liked Romo a lot as QB, but people are posting like he's some Canton-bound angel of football that will guarantee world titles without fault, which is very silly. We literally had a guy go "WHEN DID ROMO EVER HAVE A BAD GAME?!" for crying out loud.
Romo's numbers are as good as anyone who will go into the Hall. But that's another conversation. More importantly is that he's the best QB on the roster. Which again is amazing to think about.

I am worried Dak will not quite have enough to get us over the finish line, much like Big Ben didn't his rookie season.

But I think it's more likely that the defense lets us down than the offense. Dak is playing more than good enough to win, especially if they continue to have Dak throw from under center without play action.

He doesnt, the cowboy fans who think we can win a SB with Dak are delusional. Romos chemistry with the WRs and ability to recognize all the coverages a defense throws at us is invaluable

John Elway said he was his best at age 36 bc he knew everything the defende could throw at him and all his playoff experience. That's why Brady is as coo as ever at age 39
