So Springs should ignore the chance to play for his childhood heroes, to play wearing the star like his father and to be close to his ailing father? And on top of that -To join a team with every bit of a chance to be successful as New England or any other in '09?

If your an old aging injury prone player and have the chance to go to

A. The best run franchise in the league.
Play for the best coach in the league.
Play on one of the better defenses in the league.
Play on a team with the best qb in the league.
Play in a quiet locker room that is focused on the task at hand at all times.

or

B. Play for a lame duck coach who cant control the locker room.
Play for a team coming off a 9-7 record in a tough division.
Play for a franchise that attracts tons of attention for all the wrong reasons.
Go to a team that has newman, scandrick and jenkins already.
play for a team that at the first sign of trouble the locker room is going to explode.

I could go on and on. If springs didnt have his father here I would think it would be a no brainer. Yes we do have a chance to win next year but no where near as good as new england and in new england football is the most important thing, which is kind of the personality that springs strikes me as having.

In Dallas that is simply not the case and it sucks that it isnt.

Zach was hardly much of a problem last year. And in the second half of the season he was fine once the D-Line started to do their job (sans Ratliff who was always doing his job). And saying Zach looked slow is ridiculous. And how exactly is Dallas supposed to get quicker at the positiion? Get an aging Ray Lewis? (who I would like to have, but more for leadership reasons)

You're best off getting a quality, veteran like Brooking who has played for Wade and then drafting a young player to learn.

YAKUZA

Bradie managed to get freed up more once the season went on, I attribute that to Wade taking over and guys getting comfortable in the scheme. It just seemed to me like Zach was a tad slow and undersized, and our guys weren't giving him much help on that side.

I definitely see the combo of Brooking/Draft Choice to be a very solid combination next year.

I thought we might have a decent debate this morning but now that I see you are firmly convinced by the ESPN's of the world about the Cowboys- we probably have nothing to discuss.

NE has message boards too...just FYI.

Another slow one for the Cowboys?

A year ago, the Dallas Cowboys signed linebacker Zach Thomas as a free agent.

He looked old, slow and didn't make a lot of plays for the Cowboys. So what do the Cowboys do now? They sign Keith Brooking to a three-year deal. Brooking, who spent all 11 of his seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, doesn't run well enough anymore. That's why Atlanta let him go.

But here's Dallas willing to jump in and sign another aging, slowing linebacker. Jerry Jones didn't learn his lesson from last year.

Zach may have looked old but he wasn't slow by any means.

You cleverly left out New England's history of cheating. Yeah they had a nice run, but they got caught. You have every right to toot NE's horn, but don't leave out a glaring fact that surely had an effect on their success on the field where football is the most important thing to them.

See this is why I asked you to put me on ignore.

Why would I go to a new england message board, That makes zero sense. Because I think Shawn springs would be smarter to sign there given his situation!

and I dont even watch espn.

Please I beg you put me on ignore, and yes you are right we have nothing to discuss. I have never seen you once post about anything other than owens and all of your posts are from arguing with the same people and most of them are insults to the other person.

Please put me on ignore.

Yes your right they are cheaters.

I take it all back. They suck and no one should go there. They have never won anything legitimately. They clearly have no idea what they are doing.

But if the Pats, Chiefs (Pioli) or Steelers had made this same move, it'd be "genius"

I agree, if he plays as well as Zach did last year with the added benefit of his intangible leadership, we struck gold!

apologize for what?

For not realizing that players can win in other places besides New England and that you promote and swallow the media hype about the locker room going to implode---for starters.

I don't see Zach looking slow last year. Undersized? Definitely. But I think the combo of Bradie and Zach was a solid one and you're dead on, once they started to use Bradie in other ways (particularly having him blitz more off the edge than just up the middle, they were a really nice combo. However, I think Brooking still has solid speed and is bigger and has played in the scheme before.

I wonder what he said when the Pats signed Junior Seau???

Hold your breath.

I love the fact you are so wound up that you respond to anyone who you think may be countering your opinion. I was clearly joking yet your insecurity would not allow you to see it plainly. You are amusing me however for that I thank you.

Exactly....what a freakin' joke! The Cowboys should be applauded for paying such a small price for a productive guy with great character and getting him for such a small price tag. Nevermind, he is probably better suited in the middle of Phillips' 3-4 defense, nevermind that the Cowboys still haven't even gotten to the draft, nevermind Prisco obviously never spoke to anyone within the organization about his role. Just throw some crap against the wall and hope you don't look like an idiot!
