If you are going to complain at least this makes sense.

There is a very specific complaint here and to me that I can accept whether I disagree or not.

I don't know that Brooking is slow but I'd bet he isn't running any 4.5s.

If he is too slow then he is a 2 down player. I don't think we overpaid at all or that this was a bad signing by any means but at least this criticism is not asking us to be believe the moon is made of cheese.


But just to restate my own points here. You have to sign guys like this and Kitna to protect yourself prior to the draft. You can not expect young draftees to come in and start day 1.

I don't see Zach looking slow last year. Undersized? Definitely. But I think the combo of Bradie and Zach was a solid one and you're dead on, once they started to use Bradie in other ways (particularly having him blitz more off the edge than just up the middle, they were a really nice combo. However, I think Brooking still has solid speed and is bigger and has played in the scheme before.

If Belichick would have signed him, he would have gone off about how Belichick does such a great job at getting extra miles out of aging linebackers.

In fact, it was Belichick that really wanted Zach last year.
