I do think that Harvey Martin should be on the list. He is very close to the top of that list with regards to sacks and he still holds the unofficial Cowboys mark.

This was my exact thought as well. I think Martin and Haley were much better than Kevin Greene.

and let's not forget that Ware gets all these sacks and fumbles while winning the award every year for "player who gets held the most without ever getting a flag"

You forgot the more then occasional non offside flag he gets. I know he jumps some, but he also tends to get a lot of flags thrown because he beats the tackle off the snap so badly.

Ware is stung with the same problem as Witten -- neither of them has really had an opportunity for signature moments in the playoffs -- especially NFC championship games and Superbowls.

It's BEYOND REASON that two Hall-of-Fame bound players as good as these two have never sniffed even a NFL championship game.

100% on point. Both have had great careers (I don't know about #8 all-time, that's a little ridiculous), but they will not ultimately get the credit they deserve, as they've been stuck on a mediocre team their entire careers.

Why is being ranked #8 all-time a little ridiculous? Maybe it is debatable, but I would hardly consider it to be ridiculous. I think that is about right. Ware is already ranked 19th all-time in sacks after his first 8 seasons. When you look at all the guys ranked higher than him on the all-time sack list, only Reggie White had more sacks after their first 8 seasons. I think that puts Ware in pretty good company and pretty worthy of being considered one of the top 10 all-time pass rushers.

Total after 8 seasons Name(rank all-time)
124 Reggie White(2)
111 DeMarcus Ware(19)
105 Jared Allen(16)
99.5 Derrick Thomas(12)
93 Simeon Rice(13t)
93 Leslie O'Neal(9t)
93 Richard Dent(7t)
92 Bruce Smith(1)
89 Lawrence Taylor(9t)
85.5 John Randle(7t)
82 Greg Townsend(20)
81 Julius Peppers(18)
80.5 Jason Taylor(6)
76 Clyde Simmons(15)
76 Chris Doleman(4)
72.5 Kevin Greene(3)
67.5 John Abraham(13t)
67 Sean Jones(17)
65 Rickey Jackson(11)
62 Michael Strahan(5)

Demarcus is insanely good. I feel sorry for those who can appreciate him while he is here. You WILL miss him.

I agree with you, he's a solid player, but #8 all-time? Even you must agree that that's a bit high; unfortunately, he's not getting any younger. Too bad he'll never know what a championship feels like, because he deserves to.

He's the best pass rusher of this generation, so obviously he belongs on the list.

Jared Allen is the only one even in the conversation, and Ware outperforms him despite having played in 13 less games.

Yeah I remember in 2007 when the league basically apologized to him during the off-season after he was flagged twice for being off-sides when he clearly was on his side of the ball - he just jumped so fast.
