Go to the very end and that Dark Order 'beatdown'. Some 'wicked punches' being thrown there...

Reminds me of this:

Cincinnati Gardens - December 26, 1959

Dr. Big Bill Miller and Dick Steinborn fought to a draw.

Joe Blanchard defeated Bronko Lubich

June Byers & Lorraine Johnson defeated Judy Glover & Jackie Hammond

Don Eagle downed Gorgeous George

Dick the Bruiser defeated Cowboy Bob Ellis in two out of three falls

Attendance: 6,248

"Big Bill Miller" was a solid opponent for Bruno Samartino during Bruno's first WWWF championship run in the 60's.

Joe Blanchard was Tully's father.

"Gorgeous George" is still a legend in the business.

"Dick the Bruiser" and "Cowboy Bob Ellis" had bloodbaths all over the Midwest. "Cowboy Bob Ellis" doesn't get a lot of talk nowadays but he was a top-flight draw for several territories over his career.

A decent card.

Houston 1-3-82

Courtesy of David Baker

From Sam Houston Coliseum (Special Sunday Card)

1) Scott Casey vs. Grenade Bowyer (Mike Boyette) ended in a draw

2) The Grappler beat Ray Hernandez

3) Cyclone Negro beat Juan Reynosa

4) Dick Slater beat Larry Lane

5) Bruiser Brody beat Superstar Graham

6) Dory Funk Jr. beat Tully Blanchard

7) Dusty Rhodes beat Gino Hernandez

8) Tom Prichard, Manny Fernandez & Tiger Conway Jr. beat Tank Patton, Buck Robley & Moon Mulligan

9) Dick Slater won a 20 man, two ring battle royal

That is one heck of a card!

I would have paid to see it.

Ray Hernandez is "Hercules" Hernandez.

Brody vs. Graham... Not a lot of wrestling, but the brawling would have been great to see.

Dory Funk Jr. vs. Tully would have been a good match.

Slater could have been an NWA world champ, but he was too unpredictable. But he was tough as nails.

Cyclone Negro was given props by Bob Backland, in Backland's autobiography.

Yesterday I bought tickets for me and bdc jr. to see Raw this Monday. WWE is coming to town for the first time in over 20 years for a Raw show. SmackDown comes almost every year. We've been to that several times. I wish I were more hyped up for this show. With it being the 'go home' show before the Royal Rumble next Sunday I know that means a lot of damn yapping. But at least all the big names will be there.

We stopped at the box office after school to get our tickets. I started chatting up the ticket girl (always helps) and next thing you know she said, actually a couple of tickets just opened up on the side right in front of the stage for only $30 each. Those are supposed to be $55 tickets! We're on the camera side so I likely won't be on TV but I guess you never know. Look for us. We'll both be sporting Cowboys gear! LOL.

Full recap coming on Tuesday.

Royal Rumble is coming on the 26th. I want Asuka to beat Becky Lynch and be Asuka 2 belts....Asuka is my favorite wrestler. She has great skills vs most of the other female wrestlers.

Monday Night Raw live in my hometown!!! Overall a decent/good show. I could tell it was better in person than what the TV broadcast probably was. I haven't seen that yet. Considering I got those cheap tickets I can't complain. We were the 1st and 2nd seat in the section next to the straight view section. About 8 seats away from the cameras. Awesome view.

The "go home" show before the PPV on Sunday. At least all the names were there. Matt Hardy came out, that was a big surprise. Rollins/Murphy won the Tag Team belts! No one saw that coming! Not here anyway. Great ladder match, Rey Rey woke up sore this morning. He had a major fall into a ladder. Luckily not to many women matches.

Biggest pops - Lynch, KO, Orton, Rey, Samoa Joe. Biggest boos - Lesnar (still has skinny legs), Heyman, Rollins

Drew McIntyre is impressive in person. Orton is so damn cocky. WWE needs to drop this whole Rusev/Lana story line. Good Lord what an awful way to end the show. No one cared. Dark matches sucked. Alister Black knocking out some local guy in 3 seconds was stupid. Rowan/Hardy match pretty much sucked and the bag Rowan carries to the ring is ridiculous. Lynch can't wrestle at all. I thought it was just the way she looked on TV. Nope. She sucks big time in person. BTW, those AOP guys are HUGE.

I'm ready for the Royal Rumble. My 2nd favorite PPV. I expect a couple belts to change hands.
