By design if Micah is double teamed ( or triple teamed ) that should free up at least one of the DL to have an easier route to Qb, the problem is Dlaw , Armstrong and DTs are not winning enough.
They have to stop the run to setup the pass rush. All 11 have to stop the run, not just the DEs.

My opinion is Quinn went vanilla on defense and so did MM on offense.

No doubt about it San Fran is a better team...Im not suggesting otherwise.

But...

I want to believe Jerry laid the groundwork early in the week before the San Fran game that "The road to the Super Bowl goes through 9ers" was basically a comment suggesting the Boys werent going to show their whole hand. Sure...San Fran probably went vanilla too and whooped our cheeks...but we need to see what happens post season assuming we make it.

Losing Diggs was big even though Bland has played well and has INT's. I dont watch film...but I suspect its easier to crowd one side of the field with defenders if you know the QB isnt looking towards Diggs' side of the field on pass plays. But...our run defense has not looked good lately.

Im not worried about Quinn yet...but our Offense needs to get more creative or have a better plan. Seems like every NFL game I watch the other teams get guys open downfield at a way higher frequency than Dallas does...every team. If Dallas' offensive scheme is geared towards short, high efficient tight end catches...I cant say Im a fan...even if thats what Moore was using when he had best offense in league for like 3 years with Cowboys. Dallas needs a better offensive scheme, imo.

wrong mr big no fan of jerry all of a sudden blaming jerry for lack of execution and bad gameplans from the coaches..really ???so jerry SET a higher expectation and its his fault..like the Jimmy put it in 3 " letters, we will win the game!" headline pregame week post?? No it would have been worse if he said the game was meaningless in the big picture and took pressure off lmao.. it's so obvious when the haters got their claws out. in this case it's on the FO.

. BTW there is nothing vanilla about what SF ran. Not even close.

I think both coordinators had brain farts for the 49ers game. I am still trying to figure out why Quinn kept lining Parsons up over Trent Williams. The weakness in the 49ers OL is on the other side of the line. Quinn should have put strength against weakness. He let Micah get beat up way too much.

If you saw Myles Garrett on Trent Williams is was a closer match although Garrett struggled too. Garrett is 30 lbs heavier than Parsons.

Still, if the 49ers took Parsons out of the game where was everyone else?

I think the Browns may have exposed something in Purdy. Get pressure on him, even blitzing a couple of guys and his accuracy goes down quite a bit. We'll have to see how other teams play the 49ers going forward. But that game is behind us now. We need to beat the Chargers tonight. Some tough games coming up.

You seem to want to be unreasonable...I get it, this isnt real.

How come MLB teams play different in the post season? How come NBA teams dont show their whole hand against teams they know they might see in Playoffs? How come countries dont just start sending nukes right off the bat?

Call me names, be unreasonable, beckon your bot friends to come ruin this thread by making it completely negative.....yawn.

More unreasonable posters will show up than reasonable ones....hmmm.

Can't believe teams can just scheme out our best pass rusher, we should be able to adjust to that, move him around the line and let him pass rush from wherever, have him spy the QB, rush him along side another guy, IDK, do something don't just have him there rushing against their best pass protector and chipped by fullbacks and RB's all game long!

Purdy didn't play well yesterday. It was bound to happen at some point. He was missing throws even when not pressured and still did enough to win the game. Against us it was like he ran down the field and handed the ball to his WR his accuracy was so good, yesterday, not so much. And when a team does everthing they can to take away your best player (Parsons), someone else has to step up.. no one on our team did that.

Cowboys have talent all over but I think sometimes we just think talent alone wins the day. It usually does against lesser competition, but great defenses aren't only talented but take away what the opposing offense does best.

49ers are built around motion and quick developing plays which slowed pur pass rush and took away what we do best on defense when we should have done that to their offense.

Jim Schwartz owns Shanahan in head-to-head matchups and it isn’t even close.

My only complaint is the masterpiece he orchestrated against them in the last playoff game as compared to the absolute no show he coached a week ago.

The night and day contrast was the biggest shocker to me.
Like it wasn't just a below average showing, it was their absolute worst.
Just like in the previous meeting his group TOTALLY shut them down and we should have won because of the defense.

So yeah, for me it was the old Jekyll and Hyde which defense is gonna show up frustration.
