Progress Report: Jabril Cox

Cox is definitely going to have to prove himself in training camp this year. Pulling for the guy since he did have a torn ACL injury but need to see some type of production other than 6 tackles.

Will we see Jabril make a leap this year.
His playing time pretty much limited to ST's in 2022. As his knew injury from 2021 effected him until mid season in 2022 before he seen action.
So it will be interesting in TC, have a full healthy offseason to finally show if he was worth the pick.

It will be almost like a rookie with some limited NFL experience.
If he shows progress, we will have Micah, LVE, Jabril and Damon at LB, which could turn into a strength.
Cox is basically a nickel safety trying to be a LB at the NFL level.

If he were anything special, and they really liked him, Quinn and the coaches would have already been playing him much more exclusively in the defense.

Depending upon what other new addition LBs come in and be impressive, i think Cox will find it difficult to make this roster this time around.

I'm a firm believer in you have to see a player play in a real live regular season game to know what you truly have. How many ppl were championing Bland before he got extended playing time?

I like Jabril's skill set, problem is, he's competing against LBs and Ss to get on the field. Lookout for Devin Harper too.

Yah this guy hasn’t shown anything. It would be a rare occurrence he turns into a quality starter at this point.

Sometimes guys just arent good NFL players
And sometimes it just takes time to develop
And sometimes vets in front of them get reps over them
We will know soon enough which it is
I can say this, he was a very solid college player

He was coming off an ACL. Takes at least a year to come back from that 100%.

I've never understood why, a player is said to NOT BE TRUSTED, Then you look at who they do trust and he gives up a 90 yard drive for a TD. It's not like the defense was playing 86 Bears football

Some on here say he is useless. Cox needs to get healthy and realize the fact he is not in college anymore. Start over with the mindset to get better and study his craft. Stay late and learn the pro game. Pulling for the young man.

They had Jabril Cox on the right track his rookie year before the ACL. He was playing on ST, 3rd down packages, and some in the box safety. Great position to learn the game. But as usual, He came back and they never threw him back in the mix.

He will end up playing for or getting a Super Bowl ring with another team like every other player that the Arlington Jonesboys let go. You can not coach 6-3-233, 4.52 40 time, with 34 inch vertical. Give the young LB playing time and he will show you what he did at NDS, LSU, and the first 8 games of the 2021 season.

Would be amazing to have Jabril and Damon take steps forward. I'm really excited to see what Damon can do this year. I think he will ball out.

2023 is what we drafted him for. Fully healthy and ready to go it's time to start making plays. Very anxious to see him in preseason.
I don't follow. He was healthy when we drafted him. It's not like the hope wasn't for him to play a role in his first two years when we drafted him. I get he wasn't a 1st or 2nd rounder but I don't think we can say we drafted him for 2023

The acquisition of Anthony Barr last year really set Cox back. This year he has an excellent chance to get some playing time but he is still behind Damone Clark. I have no idea what kind of player he can be, but when he ran down Danny Dimes to prevent him from scoring a TD I thought he showed something in a division with at least 2 QBs who can run the football. Let's see how he does in the preseason. Hopefully he stays healthy.

I think it's possible that Jabril just had a tough break with his injury but has enough talent to impress if things work out for him. I've been somewhat surprised and disappointed that he hasn't quite made it so far. I'm hoping we'll see him have success when TC is done, and the season begins.

Cox has an opportunity this season. LB corps is pretty light especially when you look at Micah as a hybrid player.

LVE, Cox and Clark are are only guys with any experience.

I can’t see the team re-signing Barr, but adding a LB on day 2 of the draft or nabbing a vet FA is a near certainty.

He was only active for 9 games in 2022.

He played 185 snaps on special teams.

He played 36 snaps on defense. All at the end of blowouts.

Thats why I'm a bit surprised that more aren't concerned with the LB position, after a slightly above average LVE - who does have injury issues - there is not much there but potential.

They need to get a vet and draft another LB.
