Thats why I'm a bit surprised that more aren't concerned with the LB position, after a slightly above average LVE - who does have injury issues - there is not much there but potential.

They need to get a vet and draft another LB.
I think Quinn really likes Clark and wants him to get the majority of snaps when Micah is at DE. But we need insurance. They brought Travin Howard in for a visit but didn’t sign him. He may be signed after the draft, unless he failed the physical or something.

This will be an important season for Cox....needs to be injury free in the PS and get some game action for the coaches to gain confidence in him. Not sure why he did not see more PT in 2022. But has to kick it up a notch; not like Dallas has All Pro LBs he needs to beat out. Make or break time for JC.

Yes they need to sign a vet, I know Clark had the injury and missed training camp but I wish we would have seen a bit more from him, hopefully we'll see a big step forward this year.

Will we see Jabril make a leap this year.
His playing time pretty much limited to ST's in 2022. As his knew injury from 2021 effected him until mid season in 2022 before he seen action.
So it will be interesting in TC, have a full healthy offseason to finally show if he was worth the pick.

It will be almost like a rookie with some limited NFL experience.
If he shows progress, we will have Micah, LVE, Jabril and Damon at LB, which could turn into a strength.
There has been a translation issue with Cox, not sure he has adapted as quickly as Q wanted him to.
The clock is ticking on JC to make the transition, this is a vital camp for him.

Q really has high expectations for Clark, but Q has even another still deep in his pocket, ready to unleash.
Doubt we take a LB in this draft, but will be early in UDFA to grab the best available.

Didn't see any issues when he clocked Danny Dimes.

I am not so sure he will make a jump. back when we drafted him, everyone on this board called him the steal of the draft. so far, he is a STer. if he contributes, its a good progress. he has to be able to get on the field and make some plays. Damone Clark made it to the field more often and made more plays as a rookie

Well put me in typo and grammar spelling jail then since you feel the need to police me, and not actually contribute to the conversation.
So I didn't take the time to proof read my post as I usually do.
Get a life.

He played a lot in the preseason games and I didn't thnk he was limited in practice right before the PS games started, so I don't buy his injury from mid-way through the prior year was a big part of the problem. For whatever reason the Cowboys refuse to really put him on the field. I can't see how he would be worse in the nickel than what we have at times ran out there. For instance, watching Clark try to play the middle of the field in a zone was painful at times and showed he needed a little more seasoning, which is expected considering how little practice time he really had. Maybe I'm wrong about Cox, maybe they are wrong, but regardless I just don't think this team is interested in giving him many snaps on defense
Lack of lateral agility.

Cox is a typical example of how speed doesn't matter if you can't turn. Cox = Jeff Heath.

Jabril doesn't play LVEs position.

Cox takes the wrong angles in pursuit, I've noticed.
NFL terminology. When it is claimed that he takes the wrong angles, what that means 90% of the time is that he has poor lateral agility. Can't cut. Can't move side to side. This is what doomed Reggie Robinson, and what made Jeff Heath a backup/STs type.

This was the reason he was available in the 4th to begin w/. From his scouting report: "Straightline explosiveness that teams want, but isn't the smoothest changing directions."

Guys w/ this malady are mostly STers.

What? That's completely untrue IMO. You are stating that as compared to the average LB Cox lacks lateral agility? I'd say the opposite and he has very good lateral agility and is more fluid than your average LB and I don't think it is particularly close.

Hoping he isn’t injury prone.
