I don't this BSU is talented enough to go through an SEC schedule undefeated. But ya know what? Neither is Alabama or Florida or (I predict) LSU or Auburn. I just don't see any dominant powers this year and wouldn't be surprised to see all the BCS schools have at least one loss.

I don't think BSU's defensive front 4 would hold up for entire season in the SEC, and yes I know they rotate 10 guys. I do think they would be competitive in the SEC.

Where is the guy who wanted to bet me a paycheck that Mississippi State could beat the Broncos heads up?

Competitive in the SEC year in and year out. STOP IT !!!!

Really? What happens next year or the year after that? You honestly think for a second Boise State could compete in recruiting and play in the SEC against Bama/LSU/FL regularly?

What happens next year when your QB is gone? Who is stepping in behind him to take them to the next NC game?

These programs you are just throwing under the bus because of your homer views have 3-4 and sometimes 5 star backups to the backups standing in line. Boise State would never have that.

Jack, im sorry but sometimes I just have to shake my head.

If BSU is in the SEC you think they cant recruit? I think if they get added to the SEC it makes it that much easier for them to recruit. The team they have right now this year is competitive, after their two wideouts graduate, next year BSU won't be as dominant, but they will be competitive. Recruiting has gotten better every year, I don't see that dropping off, nor am I dropping any programs under the bus, I don't think it takes away from LSU, or Auburn or Ol Miss or any other school that BSU can do what they do with 3* recruits. I think that is coaching and good scouting. Many of the 5* recruits that are standing in line at those other schools would never play for Coach Pete, not that they are not good enough, Lord knows that they have the talent, but how many of those kids would put up with the coaches checking up on their attendance during classes? How many of them would want their name hung up in the weight room if they missed a class that week? How many would stomach getting benched if they missed too many classes? This is all standard in the BSU program, and it is part of the life is bigger than football mentality that is a large part of their success on the field.

Maybe I am a homer, but I mean no disrespect to any other program, what I do know, is how prepared this team is and the philosophy that they learn that supersedes football. Boise will play until the final whistle blows in every game, and they will never quit, that you can bank on, whether they are able to match up talent wise or not, they will definitely bring passion and fire to the game, that is why I feel that they can be competitive in any conference. System does trump talent in some cases. Boise has already won games that they have had no business winning, this year they actually have the talent to win those games, and they have the heart, that is a tough combination in my opinion.

You are dreaming if you think BSU can compete w/ those schools in recruiting. Im sorry but nobody who is being offered a scholarship to any of those schools is going to so no to a Florida or an LSU or a Bama to go and play in Boise, Idaho.

It ain't happening my friend.

I agree with what you say here, but fact is that the above statement describes everybody, not just BSU. When BSU loses their QB, they're gonna take a step back. But the same thing happened to Florida. They dominated the SEC (and most of the nation) for the Tebow years, then they lost him and now they're 2-3 in conference. Oklahoma lost Bradford to injury and limped to a 5-3 conference record, 8-5 overall. Leinart left USC and they had a couple of 2-loss seasons. Sanchez had a great year in 2008, but then they lost him and went 5-4 in conference.

Nobody is competitive year in and year out. Everyone has their strong years when things come together, then a year or two of rebuilding.

I was wondering the same thing myself. I never heard of lmgtfy.com and loved the little intro (and you can bet I'll be using that site myself in the future). :laugh2:

But then when I clicked on some of the actual links - especially that first one - it didn't really support his argument.

The links supported the fact that Nebraska offered Boise State a 2-1 deal, and Boise State wanted $1 million to play in that format.

I just think that a team in Boise State's position should accept that offer. That is all.

And yes, the google thing is awesome, ain't it? I wish I could take credit for it.. lol

I've noticed that. If Va Tech can keep it up, it'll be great for Boise.

Well they must be doing something right in terms of recruiting when you consider the success they have had. If the Boise State campus magically picked up and moved to Orlando or Birmingham or Bayou La Batre and joined the SEC, they would suffer because they would get killed in recruiting by the SEC teams (as well as FSU and Miami). But if BSU joined the SEC while keeping the campus right where it is, they would benefit because they would keep right on recruiting the same kids they already are recruiting, plus would have a better chance of stealing away a top prospect or two from the Oregons, Washingtons and Utahs out there.

VTech has a rough schedule coming up. After Duke they have to face Georgia Tech, Miami and North Carolina. If they win out they will likely be facing Florida State in the ACC title game.

If they do manage to win all of those games it still isn't a big deal, it is just the ACC afterall.

I have to be honest... I haven't watched any VA Tech since that opening night against BSU so I really can't prognosticate their chances other than to say they all seem like winnable games. Of course, except for Duke, they are probably all "loseable" also.

BSU is VA Tech's #1 fan and I do think it's reasonable to say that if VA Tech wins out, they'll find their way back into the top-10. Yes I know that's a big "if" so we'll just have to see what happens.

Va Tech didn't look that great against Boise State. Once they got settled in, they pretty much manhandled the Broncos, but Boise answered late and won the game. BSU is a very smart ballteam.

BTW, who was the last team to defeat the Broncos? Was it TCU in 2009?

They'll throw out some pretty cool looking unis every once and awhile.

Diamond plate pattern looks cheesy. Like a tribal armband tattoo.

Was that back when June Jones was the HC at Hawaii?

Might have been.

Last game of the 2008 season I think.

I'm not sure but I think that was it.
