When is the last time we could say that and have it actually be true and not from living in lack (as Voch Lombardi would say)? I forget who said it but I heard one analyst say that we could go long at safety and shorter at corner. I'm not sure that's great idea, but it's a theory floating around out there. We have Caleb, Tompson, P.J. Locke, Hooker, Julius Woods, Elijah Clark, and Marquese Bell. I don't know of any other safeties if we have them, so that makes 7. If we go long (6 maybe) that would leave Bell out in my opinion.
Dline: Quinnen W, Kennny Clark, Otito Ogbonia(?), Jonathan Bullard - 4
OLB: Reshaun Gary, Eze, Houston, Malachai Lawrence, Sam Williams, Samoan Dude - 6
ILB: Barham, Overshown, Winters, Barron - 4
CB: Bland, Revel, Cobie Durant, Caelon Carson, Devin Moore, Reddy Steward, Josh Butler - 7 realistic possibilities
Safety: Caleb, Tompson, P.J. Locke, Hooker, Julius Woods, Elijah Clark, and Marquese Bell. - 7
That's 28 people who have a realistic shot on the defense. That's flat out not gonna happen, so who gets cut? For me, I only see 3 easy cuts: Samoan Dude, Josh Butler, and Marquese Bell. The team has been high on Butler for the last few years but his injury history might come back to bite him. That leaves 4 more That have to be cut. I'm stumped and fans are gonna be upset no matter what.
