I was listening to the fan and Drew Pearson said that the nfl dislikes jerry so much that they constantly change rules to take away advantages cowboys use . He gave these examples :

The emmitt smith helmet rule . Emmitt use to take off his helmet after scoring the nfl banded that .

Michael Irvin push off rule . The nfl starting cracking down on offensive PI after Irvin's success .They even took away a clean catch from Irvin in Super Bowl 30 vs Pittsburgh .

The hands to the face rule . Erik Williams use to dominate by any means necessary and they started this rule because of Erik .

The horse collar rule . Roy Williams used this effectively but the nfl changed the rules and banned it .

It's really interesting when you think all these rule changes came from us !

Did I miss any ...?

Forgot the clear PI on Deon Sanders on Michael Irvin right in front of the ref when Dallas was making it's vaunted comeback. That would have been a score, because it was the only way they were stopping the Cowboys and the 49ers Super Bowl against the Chargers wouldn't have happened...

The NFL loves the revenue but openly disrespected Dallas in many ways, now Cowboys are losing, Jerry is a side show for 31 other Billionaires to point at and telll themselves how not to be....so the real fans don't really matter anymore and haven't mattered for a long time.

Doubt that changes anytime soon.

Commanders fans think the NFL is out to get them in order to force them to change their name. I don't credit the conspiracy theory. I do believe the fact that the Cowboys are higher profile and the media calls attention to plays and things fans don't usually notice. Those things make other teams yell, "there oughta be a rule against that!"

I hate conspiracy theories. Now...I do believe LBJ had Kennedy killed......

Good one on LBJ. That whole who did what will be revived again as we get to the anniversary of the Kennedy assassination.

And, yet, Dallas doesn't have one Monday Night Football game or , aside from Turkey day, not one Thursday Night game on the NFL network.

Yes, Tampa, Miami, Houston all do..

yea, the NFL is loving the Boys.

We are tied for the most prime time games in the NFL. Sunday Night > Monday Night & Thursday Night. It's the only prime time game on national TV. Monday and Thursday games require cable.

We're playing Da Bears, starring Jay Ratliff and MartyB, on Monday Night Football in Chicago on 12/9.

Yawn, another lame "everyone hates us...conspiracy blah blah bs whine blah bs whine..." And love the hypocrisy. If it was any other team you'd be saying, "Yeah those rule changes were made because that team is dirty." And isn't the "NFL" all the other owners? You think all the other owners hate Jerry lol. That's hilarious. We're a huge draw so the other owners love us for bringing in ticket/ad revenue when we play their teams.

Yes. But name another team with so many team/player specific rules created to stop players from doing what they're good at or noted for. I don't think it's a coincidence.

You do realize these rules apply to every team not just the Cowboys?

Of course. It just seems fishy that if a Cowboy player excels using a certain technique *gasp* what a coincidence! It is suddenly illegal for everyone.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady can fumble and they say he didn't.

It only seems fishy to Cowboy FANS because they think the league, refs and everyone else is out to get them. As for Tom Brady the tuck rule is no longer because of him.

Other QB's also fumbled and they said they didn't while the tuck rule was still in effect. The rule wasn't created for Brady.

Once a player starts having success with a certain technique other players around the league start doing it that's why these rule changes came about. It's when something becomes rampant around the league that causes the NFL to make rule changes. Does anyone believe that it's fair for receivers to push off? DB's would have no chance in todays game if a Calvin Johnson or any of these big, physical WR's were allowed to push off. The horse collar rule came about due to Roy Williams trailing plays all the time forcing him to have to grab ball carriers from behind and drag them down by the neck. It was causing ankle injuries and the one to TO was the final straw. It was a player safety rule and almost every year we're seeing new player safety rules that have nothing to do with a Cowboys player.

Back in the 80's the Commanders had the "fun bunch" known for their choreographed group celebrations in the endzone after scoring TD's. It resulted in players from other teams to come up with elaborate endzone celebrations which prompted the NFL crack down on it. Some here are acting like the Cowboys are the only team that these rules affect. There's a good reason for all the rule changes that were mentioned. Instead of some of you getting all upset about these rule changes thinking the NFL hates the Cowboys take it as a compliment to how dominating our 90's players were that other players around the league were copying their techniques which forced the NFL to have to adopt these rule changes.

You missed the point entirely, but what's new? I won't even try to explain it. Several posters already have. It's one thing to disagree. It's another to not comprehend. Why don't you google it? That'll help ya.

I comprehend just fine everyone thinks these rules were created because the NFL hates the Cowboys. LOL How ridiculous does that sound? Do you actually believe that's why those rules were adopted? I posted several links showing Cowboy FANS were ranked the #1 most delusional fan base in the NFL and you can see why everyday on this board. Some of you are so blinded by your FANDOM you think everyone hates the Cowboys even some of their own fans. You're one of the worst offenders when it comes to thinking this which is why you show up waving your fist in all these threads. The first discussion I remember having with you, you claimed Brent Musberger hated the Cowboys. Someone started a thread about an innocent comment Al Michaels made about the Cowboys during a Sunday Night game and everyone claimed he hated the Cowboys then you added Musberger to the list. Cowboy FANS are so sensitive they construe every little comment or an honest opinion into hating on the Cowboys.

Loyal hardcore Cowboy fans can't even give an honest opinion about the players or the state of the franchise without taking abuse from all the homers on the board. Just look at some of the ridiculous threads that are started claiming either the media, the league or the refs are biased against the Cowboys. If the team wasn't going 8-8 every year and missing the playoffs none of this would be going on. It's all due to the frustration from sitting home for the playoffs every year and the FANS trying to take it out on everyone else. None of this "everyone hates the Cowboys crap" was going on when the team was winning SB's. Yeah all the rule changes were designed to weaken the Cowboys because the NFL hates them...gimme a break!

It's more of the fact that these rules are synonymous with Cowboys players- because this franchise is so popular. The rules themselves are legitimate- they don't remove some Dallas advantage. The Roy Williams horsecollar rule came about because of a fractured leg for cryin out loud. And pushing off is a foul move by a receiver to get open.
Of course, if you want another there's the Deacon Jones headchop which wasn't named after him but banned because of.. :)
