QB Carter calls getting cut by Alouettes 'a joke'

Some of you guys......

I'm not making excuses for Carter.......Living up here...I seen the writing on the wall.....

IMHO he wasnt given a fair chance.....but thats the Als decision...they have a experienced backup now behind their aging starter.

Just imagine if Henson got cut for a vet here........how many of you would defend him in saying Bill never gave him a fair chance?

Carter has put himself in this position....so he has no one to blame except himself.....but IMHO he does have NFL talent and would of succeeded in the CFL.

Shhhh! Please don't give Kartr free ammo to retaliate by providing this info on the inner workings of the CFL. I wanted to see what he would come up with on his own. :D

Please, like this wasn't going to be the excuse from the start?

If Quincy is as good as he thinks he is, or as kartr thinks he is, it would have been IMPOSSIBLE for the CFL coach to cut him.

Come on. Without me, all you guys would do is pat each other on the back and proclaim the greatness of the Cowboys.

Let's not even bother playing the season, the Cowboys deserve the Lombardi cuz they're the Cowboys.

If Henson does not make it then he does not make it there are no excuses. Carter got as much a chance as anyone else considering that training camp in the CFL is not as long as it is in the NFL. If Carter had all the talent that is spewed by his followers he would have made the team, heck many were spouting off about how he would not even be the back up for long because of this so called great talent. The simple fact is his talent is not that good, thus far no NFL team even wants this spastic not even as a 3rd stringer and now he is cut from the CFL, sorry if you can't see the writing on the wall.

Their GM says it was based on performance. How is this not a fair shot?

So did Jerry and Bill and we found out because it was from a failed drug test.

The GM is just covering himself.....You signed Green weeks after promising Carter the backup job.....u do the math....Green became available....so u cut someone that will be making more then the 40 grand Canadian avg...

It was a business move.........performance?......hahaha

Two weeks is fair?.....

Mash, I'm not bagging on him when I mention this.

Montreal brought in 6 QBs to evaluate. 4 are left. 1 was let go before Crankcase. Was that fair? Yes, it was.

How much do they owe him for evaluation? I really don't get that.

I've seen guys brought in and gone in less time all the time. They were looking for something. They are only allowed 18 American born players on their team I believe. He didn't fit into their plans.

Why is that so hard to grasp?

Considering the season is about to start, two weeks seems normal. Should they have given him until the halfway point - THEN cut him?

They never promised Carter the backup job they allowed him to compete with 5 other players for the backup job the assumption he was promised anything is just that an assumption

Personally, I like your views Eddie.

I just think you should be the one to let this go rather than preaching to other people that they should.

Lead the way Bro.

Dude, you got to be kidding me. No wonder Quincy gets so many shots, with the likes of you maybe managing football teams.

I guess the GM is Liar and Quincy is the saint, who was wronged? Give me a freaking break, you seem as bad as that Katr whatever his name guy.

UDFA, get tried for 3 days and most of them are never asked back. So that is fair and qiving Quincy 2 weeks is not fair? Talk about excuses...

Agreed. It has to be talent related somehow. What do the Als have to gain by bringing him in for 2 weeks and then dumping him for no reason?

Okay, I'm just doing the math here Mash.

When is a player ever promised a job? The GM says he never promised this? Is he lying?

Sorry man, I'm going to take his side because I don't believe any team, in any league would ever promise a player their job is safe. These teams aren't popularity contests they are businesses with large amounts of capital on the line.

You want to believe Crankcase was promised a job, that's your business, but that's math that isn't adding up bro and you know it.

Dude... we know the negatives... we just choose not to write about them in every single thread.

I know there are plenty of questions about the O-Line... I mean really, I do. But if we're talking about how Fasano and Witten will work together this season, we just don't feel the need to say that everything is contingent on the O-Line coming together, and that if it fails we'll be in trouble.

Why go into that? It's like saying water is wet. No s*** sherlock. The discussion is what can be with the two TE's. We really, really, really don't need you coming in and telling us that Kosier sucks and that he's going to screw up the whole offense. We know he has to prove himself and that if he isn't any good that will hurt the offense.

If you think anyone in the forum appreciates that, you're kidding yourself. No one likes it except the few who feel the need to bring up the negatives anytime the positives are mentioned.

That is the greatest thing to come out of this whole situation...really Quincy's entire career - culminated with "Crankcase."

Sounds to me when the player is four deep on their roster and shows no signs of competing and has meetings with the GM about his status, I think it entirely too long. Especially given the fact he has been a grumbler in the past when he was faced with competition. They actually did him a favor, but he sees it as an "insult".

And what makes you believe that the team would deny themselves a talented player? So they wasted two weeks for what? Obviously, they weren't that impressed.

Erik Gill never got a fair chance.
