QB Carter calls getting cut by Alouettes 'a joke'

Ouch. That's going to leave a mark.

No chance.

I am however shocked that Asthmafield, being a prole and all, would dare to speak to the Thought Police in such a manner.

Double plus ungood, **....double-plus-ungood.....

The French in France like Jerry Lewis, not the French in Quebec. Saying the French in Quebec are like the French in France would like claiming the English in the US are just like the English in Britain.

In any event, other than some players and some office staff who parlez vous, basically the entire Alouettes organization is Anglais.

:drunk: Damn, I read this three times, and I'm still confused! What did you just say? :scram:

WTH are you talking about? lol
I'm not sure how to spell the name but he was a Flintstones character that always had bad luck.......if i remember correctly.

Don Matthews is a born liar, always has been.

Interesting. So could you give us any insight into the REAL reason Carter got sacked? Racism? Carter's being blackballed even in Canada? It can't just be that Crankcase deserved to be cut, right?

Something about the French being weird and the Quebecers being weirder, I believe.

It is quite alarming that Carter continually gets lied to and ends up gravitating towards all of these unfair situations. Talk about bad luck.

Roll your eyes all you want, but you probably don't know a thing about Don Matthews. He has coached in the CFL for years, very successful but still a major ****.

Perhaps not. I also find it dubious at best that Carter comes across yet again another situation that wasn't his fault.

And as far as Matthews goes, all I have read is that it was Popp, not Matthews who gave any assurances. So what was Matthews lying about? Carter's performances in practice?

I have no idea why he was cut, in fact, I don't give a crap why he was cut. He was injured a couple of days ago, all the highlights I saw he was hitting all of his passes. It is an odd situation as due to bad weather, the Alouettes are practicing indoors. However, he left camp due to an injury and then was cut the next day.

Matthews would obviously say he was cut as he was the worst of the QBs because when Carter was signed last month, it was a huge deal for the Alouettes. Cutting a big name (for the CFL) is always a big thing.

Even though Popp might be the GM, Matthews runs the organization, just like he has when he coached the Mullet in Toronto, here in Vancouver and in Edmonton.

When he signed with the Alouettes, he knew it was to be for the backup. Yet just after signing him, the team also brought in Nealon Greene who has experience in Canada. Why they did that, who knows.

Ok, even assuming your conspiracy theory, if Carter indeed was 2nd best in there, what the heck do they gain by cutting him? Heck he should have been the best guy, considering how much he played in NFL.

Second, I believe its the GM who said he was not performing well. I guess GM and HC must have conspired to get Carter there and cut him for publicity then.

Because Greene is better and knows the game up there? That sounds like a good guess. But wait, that doesn't fit with the conspiracy theory.

By Quincy, I believe you have it!

Maybe because they weren't sure of Carter, considering his history?

Then don't sign him in the first place. In any event, Matthews never plays his backup QB, he will ride Calvillo until his arm falls off.

I know Carter being cut is making his detractors giddy, but it does seem he got a bit of a raw deal with Matthews.

Funny though, Popp said well he has enough talent, I hope he gets picked up by another CFL team. Certainly doesn't sound like someone who claims the QB is terrible.

Ha, I see where you are coming from, I was waiting for that. Yeah poor Quincy, he got raw deal indeed, since the GM threw a bone at him saying he has talent.

Just like Jerry/Parcells did, even Parcells saying he wont rule out that Quincy wont be back. Or that Jets didn't comment anything bad about Quincy either. Well I guess they liked him so much, they had to let him go and not even try to sign him again.

Yep that answers the questions alright. Rest of the guys here are just relishing in Carters misery. Poor Carter from Giorgia to NFL, to CFL, he always gets conned by people or gets victimized by people.

Highlights do not, by definition, show missed passes.:laugh1: So it's routine for the CFL to sign former NFL players and then cut them saying they didn't measure up? Interesting marketing plan.

Wait until Montreal gets its hands on Ricky Williams. :laugh1:
