I am assumming due to the fact that most of the NFL realizes the phins acquistion of Green will mean that Culpepper is expendable.

History shows that most teams will wait out his release, therefore, if we offered a token 7th rd pick......they might listen.....as it is better then no picks at all--right? :)
Interesting assumption. I like Culpepper, but doesn't it disturb you just a little that Miami is already giving up on him? Doesn't it distrub you just a little that when he and Brad Johnson were both at Minnesota in 2005, Johnson outplayed him?

Not really Hos, however what does distrub me is #1 his knee rehab and #2 Culpepper really needs a stud #1 WR to be successful imo, and we have that in T.O......but, ROMO of course is da man.:star:

What makes Culpepper any better of an option?

I don't not feel good about Brad Johnson being the Cowboys backup QB, I seriously think Dallas could have found someone else....

His legs are gone if he hasn't recovered any more than last year.

And Hostile is right.

It should bother everyone that Miami not only is giving up on him, but is literally jumping at the chance to rid themselves of him.

The money is part of the equation. But his health is a huge problem and there is nothing to assure anyone that it isn't resolved.

Who?

Keep in mind that Johnson is here to be a sounding board for Garrett and Romo more than to play. Realistically, if Romo is hurt we are screwed anyway. Pat Ramsey or Joey Harrington or David Carr wouldn't fix that problem because they suck.

The new coaching staff is the big issue for Culpepper imo--Cam wants Green and the leadership is showing Culpepper the door.

A day after he was informed by the Dolphins that he would not be able to participate in team drills at the club's minicamp, the quarterback issued a statement Saturday that said he would like to be released as quickly as possible.

"I am now waiting for the Dolphins' management to do what is right and fair by granting my release, so that I can find a team that will appreciate my talent and love for the game of football," Culpepper said in the statement.

Another reason a 7th rd offer could intice the phins.

We knew Johnson had limited arm strength when we brought him in, so him not throwing 60 yard bombs is not a surprise. If we did have to go to him I feel very comfortable with him hitting TO with crossing patterns.

BTW...my post got deleted for ribbing CC? Yes, very controversial.

I reserve judgement on David Carr, I think there can be something salvaged with him. Many observers feel he could unseat Delhomme in Carolina before the season it over...

Hey, I don't mind the RIBBING and I can take it.......and sometimes I deserve it......you are correct about Johnson......guess I obviously was not happy when we signed him.....and

:bang2: I STILL DON'T LIKE IT!:banghead:

Okay, let's attack that coaching staff angle. Our Offensive Coordinator was Culpepper's QB Coach last year.

We're not mentioned in the discussions as a destination for him.

Did the light come on?

Yep, Garrett knows Culpepper. He may even like Daunte as a QB. Just not as a back up QB, which is what Dallas needs.

Light just came on......but, we do not know what our OC/QB coach may/may not have recommended or currently working on as we type.

Is your light fading just a little?

Many observers feel that smoking crack before writing articles is OK too.

Really? Many? Maybe a few and that is more a bash on Delhomme than props for Carr.

There were not many options for a back up QB. At least not many good options if any. Each has a drawback.

Take Joey Harrington for example. I hear people mention him as a good choice because he supposedly had a good year last year. I don't see it. His QB rating was 68.19. His career rating is 68.14. He threw fewer TDs at a lower percentage than his previous two years. He threw more INTs at a higher percentage than his previous two years. He has shown nothing.

Yet sadly Harrington is a better option than some that I have seen mentioned. Guys like Ricky Ray or Tommy Maddox. Yikes.

I am not happy with Brad Johnson as the back up QB. That is just the state of the position. There are not enough quality QBs out there to be starters much less back ups. I would not be particularly happy with any QB. Just something each team has to deal with right now.

Not really because I sure don't see any reports that we are bringing in QBs or looking somewhere else. We didn't draft a QB. Well, we did, but we drafted him to play WR.

I just have a feeling the team does not share your opinion of Brad Johnson and our impending doom should Romo go down.

Absolutely, you are correct the team does not share my opinion of Johnson or he would be a visitor at Valley Ranch instead of an employee.

I just cannot believe our organization signed Johnson and I am very opened minded......I promise all you ZONERS:

Johnson's days are in his rear view mirror and I pray ROMO stays healthy or we are doomed.....I can see those blitz packages coming from all directions.:bang2:

Oooh.

I have not seen this side of Mister Crazy Cowboy before.

It is a little frightening but intriguing at the same time.

So....in other words, we drafted a WR.

(Not trying to nitpick....but he is a WR, despite what Eisen and his alterego eduncan say)
