QB Johnson should be cut!

Absolutely, you are correct the team does not share my opinion of Johnson or he would be a visitor at Valley Ranch instead of an employee.

I just cannot believe our organization signed Johnson and I am very opened minded......I promise all you ZONERS:

Johnson's days are in his rear view mirror and I pray ROMO stays healthy or we are doomed.....I can see those blitz packages coming from all directions.:bang2:

Well, just remind yourself this.

There is a reason you have your face painted in your sig picture. There is a reason Jones is standing there, looking important with a portfolio. And there is a reason Jones is an NFL GM/Owner and Ireland is a scout/Phillips is a coach.

There is a reason you are shaking Jones' hand...

While Jones has a "double you tee efff" expression on his face.

No offense....

Not that they are infallible....but they must have seen something in Johnson worth signing him for. And I will give them the benefit of the doubt until we see something to the otherwise...

I am assumming due to the fact that most of the NFL realizes the phins acquistion of Green will mean that Culpepper is expendable.

History shows that most teams will wait out his release, therefore, if we offered a token 7th rd pick......they might listen.....as it is better then no picks at all--right? :)

not if it means culpepper is on the team, no. i'll give them the 7th to ensure they DO NOT trade us culpepper.

Zoners, I want you all to get serious a second.:starspin

If ROMO gets injured we are history for 07. Johnson cannot get the ball deep and the above report cut from another Zoners post just VERIFIES what I said when we signed this player.

Why cut one of the YOUNG GUNS just to keep this OLD over-the-hill guy?:starspin

GIVE ME SOME VALID REASONS WHY I AM WRONG!

REASONS YOU ARE WRONG:

1. Brad Johnson is a proven winner.

2. None of the "young guns" you refer to have even proven they can win a single NFL game.

3. Johnson's experience and leadership can go a long way toward making up for some of his physical limitations.

4. None of the "young guns" you refer to were rated very highly coming out of college - that's why they weren't drafted!

5. Get real - these "young guns" aren't here because we feel they are ready to be a number 2 man - THAT's why we brought Johnson in to begin with! In fact, we really aren't sure any are even good enough to be a number 3 QB - and some are just here to provde practice arms for training camp.

I think with our current starter's background, you might want to consider dropping this one from your argument.

Naah.......I am not frightening to anyone.......just like voicing my opinion about something that is important to me!

THE DALLAS COWBOYS and my family!

What other teams in the NFL have rookie QB's or 2nd year QB's as their number 2 QB? Are there any?

The eagles would have been toast last season if not for Garthia who has experience.

During the early stages of Romo he was never promoted to 2nd string was he?

Bad idea CC...

Like I said before, I am no fan of Brad Johnson. I did not like the signing and still don't. However, I see exactly why the team did it and it's hard for me to argue with why they did. He will not make waves, he can win games should we lose Tony for a couple of games and if Tony goes down long term he has experience taking over. On top of this he is a good FG and PAT holder.

That doesn't mean I am by any means comfortable with the idea that he may be QBing the Dallas Cowboys at some point. Frankly I detest the idea. I have a feeling we will see him at some point this year. Not from any lack of faith in Tony Romo at all. I just think we've gone since 2001 without an injury to our starting QB and I think that has to end at some point.

It actually strengthens his argument. Johnson was drafted in the 9th round of 1992 by the Vikings. Just like these young guys he wasn't highly sought out by teams. It took him a few years before he even became the #2 guy on the team. He wasn't even the #3 guy his first two seasons. That is what we can expect from the young guys on this team.

That hypnotherapy is working wonders for you Hos. You have managed to block out that Quincy Carter started all 16 regular season games and 1 playoff game in 2003. :laugh2:

Should Tony Romo go down at any point this season, I will be holding you personally responsible and will be forced to hunt you down and deliver a swift kick to the nuts :)

Ok lets give you some reason

1.) If Romo gets injured you serious want to put in a guy who hasnt started, or even played in a NFL game in?

2.) Johnson may not be able to get the ball down the field, but we have enough weapons to utilize the short game

3.) If Romo gets injured we're done anyways

4.) we just passed on Quinn, why would we want to play another young kid? If we wanted that we should have drafted Quinn

5.) You are not A GM or a coach. You are a fan. You no nothing other than what the media gives you

Anything else?

Thank you, you said what I was thinking. Especially from what just ONE reporter wrote. That could be his opinion and not be fact. Maybe the plays weren't designed to go down field, maybe the WR ran the wrong, long route.

You missed my point.

In 2001, Q got injured and we started Leaf, Wright, Stoerner...

In 2002, Q got benched, not because of injury.

In 2003, Q for all 16.

In 2004, Vinny benched for Turkey day, but not so injured he couldn't play as we all saw him do.

In 2005, Bledsoe not injured.

In 2006, Bledsoe benched, not for injury.

So we have gone 5 years without starting QBs losing games ot injury. I find that remarkable, and a little daunting truth be told.

Unless you meant to say all of 2003 was an injury fill in.
