No it didn't. We will soon see if they have made another mistake with a high 1st round draft choice on a QB. I'm not optimistic. They have been horrible with developing QBs.

After one season it's already looking like they made a mistake Manziel couldn't even beat out an average QB like Hoyer in preseason. When he got his shot during the regular season he looked terrible. Bridgewater and Carr already have shown more potential than Manziel and they were drafted after him. Cleveland has been a graveyard for QB's no team has gone through more starting QB's over the past 2 decades than the Browns.

On a QB who's gone from Johnny Football to Johnny Vegas and soon to be Johnny Bench. :)

lol, True, All I know is when Dallas was sitting 16 and guys like Barr and Donald were off the board and people kept saying Dallas would take Johnny Football I just kept saying please no please no give me Martin. They made the announcement and I came out of my chair dancing around the house. lol

I agree but what I saw entering the draft was a guy with very poor habits of throwing the ball up for grabs and a guy who mentally was very immature

I have plenty of posts on the board during draft day hoping Jerry wouldn't pull the trigger on Manziel. It's still early with him but I never once felt his game would translate to the NFL.

Throwing balls up for grabs may work in college but not the NFL plus he's always looking to take off rather than maintaining being a passer. This season he scampered for a first down when he had a wide open receiver right in from of him. Durability was another another concern with him and it didn't take him long to get hurt once he was "handed" the job.

I agree and feel the same way today as I did on draft day. I think he has some good athletic ability, I think he has a decent arm but it is the 5 inches between the ears that concerns me greatly. It is also how dedicated are you to this game and to your team. Even after getting in the dog house with some of his stunts he continued to do so. Such as this

Johnny Manziel threw a party Friday night that was attended by multiple members of the Cleveland Browns, triggering a tumultuous weekend during which several players were punished by the team, according to multiple reports.
Receiver Josh Gordon, who was suspended Saturday for a violation of team rules, was one of the players in attendance, according to cleveland.com.
The Browns also fined Manziel on Saturday for being late for treatment on his injured hamstring, a source told ESPN. Less than 24 hours later, rookie cornerback Justin Gilbert was deactivated for Sunday's season finale against the Baltimore Ravens after missing a team meeting the previous night, a source told ESPN.

Not unless you have a young Randy Moss. lol I don't think the guy takes this game seriously, he has shown it time and again. it seems like one big joke to him. This is not a guy I would want leading my team.
