Same as Davonte Adams when Rodgers got his deal, they all want to get paid. Hell, Rodgers 2nd best friend on the team was Adams and he wasn't willing to stifle his 50M ego to keep him on the team.

The dumbest thing I've heard one say was right before Flacco got his 20M deal was that he didn't want that to cause them to let some players go. Which was exactly what they had to do.

Do you really want this brain trust picking a rookie QB? Unless they have a disastrous season, they would have to give up quite a bit to get up into the top 1-3 picks.

There is a strong possibility that none of these QB's just drafted are going to be as good as Prescott has been and a couple of the top picks will bust.

Then in 4 years, they're right back where they started because the QB contracts are just going to keep climbing.

He is under contract until 2032, at which time he will be 37 years old. Pretty unlikely he's setting the bar again at that age.

Mahomes did it right. He made all the money he and his future generations will ever need while at the same time forfeiting the opportunity to take another bite while still in his prime years, providing stability and real bang for the buck at the position as his career progresses.

A true win/win/win situation.

I expect them to redo his contract. and I agree. he took a large long term contract and got paid early. money today is worth more than money tomorrow. smart finantical move.
