It just got redone after winning the super bowl. So that might be quite a while down the road.Wait until Mahomes wants a new contract and see how and what he does.

They restructured it to free up cap space to sign players. It just got redone after winning the super bowl. So that might be quite a while down the road.
Yeah, they did win the Super Bowl without him but they would be even dynamic with him. It did take everything the Chiefs had to squeak by Philly. It may not have been as tough if they had Hill. He is a tremendous weapon/playmaker. He had just over 1700 yards last season minus Tua for a few games. He could have put up 2000 yards and 15+ TDs with Mahomes.Cost? All they did was win another Super Bowl their first year without him.
No team can pay everyone. Knowing who to pay, and not to pay, is where the cream rises to the top.
He's signed through 2031 at around $50m/year. The numbers look big, but we're already seeing far lesser players like Watson, Jackson, and Hurts signing comparable, if not more lucrative deals that provide less flexibility for the team due to their shorter terms. He did a huge solid for the Chiefs.Lol. Nobody is “worried” or losing sleep over the next man’s contract.
What I will 100% bet you is that when it’s Mahomes time to get paid again he’ll ask for and receive the largest contact in the league.
It’s the GM’s literal job to work the cap and make a roster. 99% of players will ask for market value. Tom Brady/Giselle only comes around once in a lifetime.
Burrow said something similar two weeks ago. It’s now being reported he will be the highest paid. Who the heck would actually answer this question with “nah man, makes me so mad when another Qb signs a deal.”
Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL and he has this attitude. Dak probably isn't top 10 and has the opposite approach.
Mahomes took a very team friendly deal, 10 years @ 50 mil a year. A big part of what makes it good for KC is the length, which allows them to move the $I think what's funny here is people think these comments mean he's not going to get every dollar he can lol. When eh signed his contract he was the highest paid QB in the league. The reason he is not is because people came after him. To pretend like Dak is selfish and he's not is a joke in itself.
Why didn’t Mahomes take less so they could give Tyreke Hill more? He took a long term deal because he could. Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league. For everyone else thst 10 year deal is nothing. For him? He will see all 10 years and get extended.Mahomes took a very team friendly deal, 10 years @ 50 mil a year. around to have some cheap years when they need it.
also he will be still making 50 mil 5-10 years from now when other teams are paying their qb's way more than that.
Dak refused a 6 year deal and demanded a 4 year deal, so he could get more per year at the end of the short 4 year deal.
4 year deal wasnt team friendly.
KC was smart, and so was mahomes with the 10 year deal.
mahomes wants to surpass brady and his 6 or 7 rings , and that 10 year deal will help KC have a good shot at surpassing NE and Brady.
He wants to win so much they got rid of Tyreke Hill lol and signed Juju Schuster lol.Must be nice to have a winning QB that wants to win.
It's pretty ridiculous to expect Dak to do what nobody else does. Nobody volunteers to take a pay cut in the middle of a contract.A restructure is not the same as taking a paycut.
Well, then, let's keep overpaying for QB while others positions of need get affected. It's pretty ridiculous to expect Dak to do what nobody else does. Nobody volunteers to take a pay cut in the middle of a contract.
That's Jerry's fault, not Dak's.Well, then, let's keep overpaying for QB while others positions of need get affected.
If he gets greedy and wants to break the bank like Dak did, at least he will have earned it. Unlike #4.Wait until Mahomes wants a new contract and see how and what he does.
Maybe it was Hill who wanted too much. Have you considered that? Why didn’t Mahomes take less so they could give Tyreke Hill more? He took a long term deal because he could. Actually I believe he did want a big contract. More than what KC wanted to pay.Maybe it was Hill who wanted too much. Have you considered that?
That's why I'm saying Dak shouldn't continue to be overpaid. Everyone knows his agent is going to demand $48+ million/year for an extension. You're ok with paying him that much more? This won't stop until Jerry stops it. Until then, good luck trying to keep other key playmakers. That's Jerry's fault, not Dak's.

KC's D was 11th. Keeping a decent D together is much more important than one WR.Why didn’t Mahomes take less so they could give Tyreke Hill more? He took a long term deal because he could.
