QB Situations in the NFL: Where does Dallas fall?

Closest to reality is #5. Think Dak is above average, but way overpaid. Would rather do one of two things; try to acquire a truly elite QB via trade (likely Dak plus a couple of high draft picks), or trade Dak, draft a QB and sign a veteran stop gap (think an Andy Dalton type).

People must think Hurts outplayed Mahomes cause he had more passing yards or something

Sounds like you cant be an unbiased fan. LOL.
Speaking of being unbiased, let's be real. If Dak had played the same exact game that Hurts played, you would have started 30 threads on how Dak sucks. How Dak chocked by fumbling and gave away the SB win. Yet because it's not Dak, you are now saying Hurts was the best player on the field. LOL.

Where do we fall?

it isnt just mahomes, or qb, it is the coaching, that makes teams great.
Mahomes is in a good situation with good HC, good asst coaches, good team mates, decent defense, and the offense
was designed to let mahomes be the best he can be.

Mahomes isnt running the wco, or any of the others, he has a specific offense tailored to suit what he does best.
Mahomes is vg at running after dropping back to pass, no run option or designed runs, he mostly just runs when it opens up and there he goes,
just like in SB.

Most qb's are forced into some offense , that might not suit them.

People credited Prescott for playing an excellent game against the Eagles this season despite him throwing a pick 6 and fumbling the ball but thankfully it was recovered by the centre. Anyone that claims Hurts was the Eagles' problem against the Chiefs is quite simply an idiot! Pretty much every QB will have made the same mistake at some point - unfortunately for Hurts it wasn't recovered by his own team and it happened in the Superbowl.

And anyone who thinks Hurts was the best player on the field is quite simply an idiot also. BTW, the fumble was all on Hurts. It wasn't because of some great defensive play. He flat out just mishandled the ball and fumbled. If Dak had done that, all the Dak bashers would be killing him over it.

This is true, Hurtz did play great but it’s 100% fact that fans would’ve ripped Dak if the Cowboys lost and he had like a 140 QBR.

Our fans are wild.

His defense and coaching cost him the game. Andy Reid schooled Gannon that second half. Eagles scored 35 points. If Dak put up 35 points in a game and lost, every Dak stan here would blame the defense because 35 points wins games. And this time, they would be right to defend Dak. You lose a game when your offense scored 35, something else blew the game in the big picture, not the QB.
The defense cost them the game for sure. All I’m saying is if they took care of the ball the outcome may have been different but Hurts more than compensated for his defense playing bad. But this goes back to the going “toe to toe” with Mahomes and how flawed it is. Statistically he had a better game than Mahomes on a high ankle sprain and still lost.

Only reason people said Dak played great was because they won. As they lost the same anti Dak crowd would’ve blamed him.

Dak is going on year 8 and hasn’t gotten to the SB and throwing pick 6s on a regular. Again, talking about imaginary scenarios to prop up an average QB, who if he walked into a situation like Daniel Jones would have been unknown as he’d be a backup somewhere.

It’s not healthy to live in “if Dak wins the SB, his haters would still not give him props”…

Dak wouldn't have done that because Dak can't get to the Super Bowl to do that.

You're making it sound like Dak is the only option with that water analogy.

It's more like you can have this water for $50 or you can have this other water that can do the same thing for you for $25.

Dak is not a premium product. He just got premium pay.

Him getting paid didn't make him special in the talent department all of a sudden. We went 4-1 without him this year. There are MUCH cheaper QBs that could've lead the NFL in INTs and played horrible against the 49ers in the playoffs. I promise you that.

That's what makes us "Dak haters" mad about the whole situation. We're wasting money and time on a QB that will never lead you anywhere when we could've got that somewhere else for cheaper while looking for a real QB at the same time.
This is the path our illustrious ownership has taken us. And appears willing to stay the course for possibly another decade.

I’d argue our two idiots in the sky box are comfortable with the level of success they’ve had withPrescott and don’t trust themselves to find something better in the draft or FA they can market and hype while not willing to risk taking a step back to possibly take two steps further.

This is our conundrum with our dysfunctional ownership and front office. We can only go as far as their Mgmt can take us.

Here’s a good question and possible fine thread title.

Are there any fans out there who would trade owners with us?

Who would want Jethro and Son running their football operations?

Dallas is riding with Dak and in the meantime we will try 2 draft a guy. I think Jalen Hall, the BYU kid might have a chance. He needs work. Maybe rd 3-4 with him. We wont be signing or trading for a vet QB.

They're rich, but they'll always be known as doofus losers that had no idea what they were doing. I think that bothers Jerry, because he surly wants to be known as someone that knows what he's doing. Stephen more than likely doesn't care at all how he's perceived.

There's nothing us fans can do about it. So, just be thankful you're just a fan and not the laughing stock of GM's.

There is something we can do about it but thus far fans have been unwilling to take action.

And I hate what they represent to our franchise .

Get some new material. At least make it funny or interesting when bashing Dak for the 1000th time a day.
