The 1982 Dolphins lost the Super Bowl. Marino was drafted in 1983, and made his only SB appearance in 1984.

To say he didn't inherit a good team is factually incorrect. That his only SB appearance was two years after their previous one (without him) speaks volumes.

Erod just likes to keep parroting the idea that Dak somehow just inherited the best team ever for a rookie QB. Which is just a nonsense way of minimizing any credit Dak gets for the team going 13-3.

He inherited the best defense in the league . A team that made it to the SB with David Woodley as there QB and finished with 11 wins the year before .

The Dolphins always had a good team when Shula was there. All the Dolphins needed after that 1982 SB appearance was a QB which they found in Dan Marino.

Its all hes got . All that whole group that lives in the shadow of there manufactured Romo legend. They all try to grow it bigger by minimizing anything Dak has accomplished . They all call Dak the bus driver and other crap . Fine give me the bus driver and the power running game . Bob Griese was a great bus driver with a power running game that went undefeated and won SBs .
Marino the ultimate passer couldn't get there and both had great defenses . Give Dak a great defense that can make a stop at the end of a playoff game and lets see what happens .

I was always surprised that Shula didn't build more of a running game for Marino after all the success he had with Csonka , Kick and Mercury Morris. Seems like some of the greatest passers needed the help of a power running game Elway comes to mind . Could never quite get it till he got Terrell Davis .

That's why Im hopeful with the direction we are going in now that we will be able to get farther in the playoffs .

Exactly.

He inherited a team that had the 4th pick in the draft from their stellar performance in the previous season. People need to wake the hell up!

A team with a horrible defense that he helped protect by making ball security a priority along with using his legs checking the ball down and whatever else it took to keep the chains moving and them off the field

So now we can ask again. Why are you judging a quarterback by things he did 22 months ago, and not what he’s doing now?

Year 2 of regression.

He's not a good QB and it showed again yesterday. He'll be backing someone up after we let him walk.

Yep, will have a great and long career as a backup QB. It's not the bazillion $ contract but it will provide for a very comfortable lifestyle and future that will put him comfortably in the 1%. He's a great kid and I wish him well but we need to draft the top QB coming out in the 2019 Draft.

How can anyone watch Dak play and say he’s a franschise QB is beyond me. There are 25 better QB’s starting in the NFL right now. The Garrett/Dak combo has to be the worst in the NFL.
Hate saying this, but I’m hoping for a 5-11 year so Garrett gets fired and we start from scratch, this team ain’t going nowhere.
