It’s funny how the media appears to be turning on Dak after he got paid. I seem to remember when the Cowboys franchised him the media had him as a top 5 quarterback and the Joneses were being cheap. Now that he is paid Dak is an average quarterback.

This is how I do my tiers:

Tier 1 is Elite: Elite is a horribly overused word, this is reserved for the pinnacle of QB play. If you accomplish this tier for a number of years in a row, you’re a shoe in for the Hall of Fame. Sometimes there are 5 elite QBs, sometimes there is 1.

Tier 2 is Great: If the All-Pro QB is not from the 1st Tier, then it is almost assuredly from this tier. If you have a strong roster, there is never any question whether or not you’re a true contender when this QB is healthy.

Tier 3 is Pro Bowl Caliber: QB’s who will put up nice stats if the Oline is healthy and the skill positions are well-invested. QB’s who can reliably finish the season with winning records when everything is going right, will make an occasional pro bowl if a guy higher on the list is injured, Though will rarely if ever be considered for All-Pro. Also Not impossible to make a super bowl run of the team is loaded.

I mean isn’t this said about most guys? Aaron Rodgers for sure has two very good running backs.

And those two running backs put up almost identical numbers to our two running backs last season, so that would somewhat be a wash in this case.

Dillon/Jones 1,602 yards on 358 carries (4.47 ypc) 9TDs. 704 receiving yards on 86 receptions (8.18 ypc) 8TDs.
Elliott/Pollard 1,721 yards on 367 carries (4.69 ypc) 12 TDs. 624 receiving yards on 86 receptions (7.26 ypc) 2 TDs.

Both QBs lost in the playoffs partly because the 49ers stopped those duos (67 yards rushing for GB to 77 for Dal). So there's that.

As for the ranking, I don't have too much of a problem with it but I do agree that tier should be split in two. No way several of those QBs (Hurts, Winston, etc.) are on the same level as the Dak and others.

I don't agree on Jackson being a Franchise QB. exciting. makes a lot of runs. but gets easily neutralized in post season. I don't like RBs mascarading as QBs.
Also, don't like Watson in the franchise QBs. he got two raises and top 3 type money, having not played a single snap in almost two years. he is a myth more than reality at this point.
Also, not sure why Ryan is in tier 2....superbowl is years ago. he hasn't done anything to establish himself and has been quite average past few years.

I wouldn't put him in Tier 4, that's a wild bunch. I mean Winston...really....that fool...Tua sucks way more than Dak...imagine if he played here.

He was a 4th round, feel good story, only got a shot because of injuries, and an overachiever.

When you get paid expectations change.

It's been 6 years and he's still chasing the ghosts of his rookie season. Instead of whining about how others and media expect more from him you should be asking yourself and your buddies here why you guys are satisfied with his play.

People really get hypocritical on the Dak discussion when they list guys like Watson in front of him. Literally the same complaints people have about Dak(lack of playoff success) can be said about Watson except Dak has never had a LOST 12 GAMES in a season.

I’ve seen Watson play at a high level for years. His rookie season was amazing. He followed it up multiple times, including his last in 2020 when he set records.

We’ve seen Burrow complete a single Kirk-Cousins-esque regular season as a tier 3 QB. He was heavily dependent on Chase, he led the league in sacks (not entirely his fault), he lost a lot of games that were close late where he had a chance to do something and came up short. Remember this was a 7 loss team, it’s not like he was dominating the league last year; he simply did better than Pittsburgh to eek out the division.

Yes he made the SB, but so did Garropolo, so did Goff. Is that an automatic Tier 2 qualifier? Of course not. Their defense carried them through that playoff run. Burrow had 5 TDs in 4 games, never scored 30, won a game where he couldn’t even score 20, with a single performance over 265 yards. It was impressive for a second year player to handle the situation like that, just like it was impressive when Goff did it.
