The entire defense needs help though. It doesn't exactly limit their options.

You have the 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th, 6th and 7th rounds too. You can add alot of talent to a defense without spending a first round pick there

They're rumors coming out of Philly that Nick Foles won't be back and never was really a Chip Kelly guy. Would you sign him to be Romo's replacement?

No, hes a guy that got hot in a QB friendly offense when no one had tape on him.

Someone will pony up based on 2013 and will be lucky to get his 2014 production

I say no because what ever 1st round QB is avail they wouldn't be day one ready at ouout draft pick.
History shows a large majority of late 1st round qbs bust.
I am against drafting per need and that would be what your doing.
Get the best player that can start day 1.
No way should we skip on a day one DE, DT, CB, or FS. We could be passing up on a defensive play maker or game changer for a guy to ride the bench or come in and struggle hus rookie year if Romo is hurt.

If Garrett and company likes one in the 2nd-4th then yes but we will still need a #2. No rookie QB is going to come I and replace Romo if they can even do better than Weeden.

I'm not sure Hoyer gets a long-term deal with the Browns. He just turned 29 years old. At first glance people think he is having a good season with his 90.3 passer rating. That only ranks 19th amongst QBs and the league average is 89.5. The guy is average at best. He has reached his ceiling.

I am against using a 1st round pick to acquire Johnny Manziel. There are better options out there.

Dallas needs to definitely take some serious consideration about drafting a QB next season. If a good one is there when they pick in the first round then they need to pull the trigger. The don't need to draft one just for the sake of drafting, but if they see one they like then do it. And they should not just limit it to the first round.

Good ideas here.

Thanks for the response.

Draft your board but I think Romo's back has put them on notice that he is closer to the end than a lot people want to think.

I can see 5 first round QBs this year. Preston said he is coming out if he gets a good grade from the advisory ans while thats never etched in stone, I can see him going in the first if he gets good news

So there were 5 a few years ago and only Luck #1 overall has been any good.

I'm sure you can have Gabbert, Ponder, or Locker as a back up next year. Just because you draft a QB in the 1st doesn't mean your getting Aaron Rodgers. You can easily get another Weeden.

Name me 1 QB since Romo drafted past the 4th round that has turned into anything

Name 1 late 1st rounder QB drafted since Flacco that's been anyrhing. I'll give you its hard to find a QB past the 4th. I've been saying 2nd -4th

You wouldn't be able to name me 5 late 1st round QBs that has been anything g great since 1997. But yet you think we will hit on reaching for a QB.

True but a much better chance to find a starting defensive player than is a qb
You can find defensive starters after the first round 3. Our starting Will right now was a 4th rounder and he has played well

We dont need a RDE, we dont need a 3 Tech we dont have a position on defense that absolutly must be filled with a first round starter
