I get its just the OP's list, but the top 6 look pretty good to me.

After that, he becomes a scramble of preferences and questions
How long do you have to succeed?
What type of players are already in place on your roster?
etc

I do think he has Dak too low, but whatever.

Now that the season has played out to the Super Bowl matchup now, in what order would teams WANT each QB to be their quarterback going forward?

Forget meaningless stats. Who would teams actually want to quarterback their team in 2024?

This is the approximate order I think they'd be taken for the 2024 season (not considering age):

1. Patrick Mahomes
2. Joe Burrow
3. Josh Allen
4. Justin Herbert
5. Jordan Love
6. CJ Stroud
7. Aaron Rodgers
8. Jared Goff
9. Brock Purdy
10. Matt Stafford
11. Lamar Jackson
12. Trevor Lawrence
13. Kirk Cousins
14. Tua Taigovailoa
15. Anthony Richardson

From the outside looking in, you'd still have Jalen Hurts, Deshaun Watson, Derek Carr, Baker Mayfield, Geno Smith, Dak Prescott, Kenny Pickett, Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones, Bryce Young, Russell Wilson, Sam Howell...
after 15 it doesn't matter.

If a team wanted a guy to choke in big games, I wonder who would be #1. :D

My opinion.

Mahomes is at the top. He is already cementing himself as a GOAT. He already has as many playoff wins as Peyton Manning. Mahomes is the most valuable player in the NFL, bar none.

The second tier consists of Allen and Burrow. They are franchise QBs. They can carry an underperforming team.

Then there’s the “good but not great” (yet) category. These guys are QBs that can go on hot streaks and win a lot of games, but don’t carry their team. Herbert, Prescott, Hurts, Cousins, Stafford (who used to be in the second tier), Lawrence, Tua, Goff. Stroud is here right now, but that’s just because he was a rookie last year. If he takes another step then he’s in that second tier.

There isn’t any point in ranking those dudes because there is no clear top dog. These guys could move into the second tier someday if they make it to a Super Bowl, but at some point you have to at least make it to the big dance if you want a seat at the big boy table.

The rest are either unproven, like Richardson, or guys you are actively looking to replace.

I would rank it as

Tractor QBs
Mahomes
Lamar
Burrow
Allen
Stroud

Current trailer QBs, with the potential to become tractors
Herbert
Lawrence
Love

Trailers
Dak
Goff
Cousins
Tua
Geno

Over the hill, do they still have a 2024 season of gas in the tank?
Stafford
Rodgers

Are they actually good at pro football? Cause sometimes I'm not sure
Hurts
Baker
Murray
Fields

Shanahan
Purdy

Too early to say
Young
Richardson

Just stay on the couch and count your money
Watson
Wilson
Jones

LOL..... this is going to go well. I do agree with you, though. After yet another no-show by Dak in a post season game, there's no way I would have him in the top 15. Probably not even top 20. Where would you place Hurts in your ranking if he isn't in the top 15?

There has not been such a clear #1 in quite a while. Cannot really remember the last time it was so obvious. During brady's first half it was Peyton Manning and him; second half him and Rodgers
well at least that is my opinion

Both Burrows and Allen have yet to really take that final step; Allen is looking more and more like Favre.
Burrows has to stay healthy

After those three you can throw a blanket over half a dozen or more easily

Dak is looking a lot like Peyton Manning who was GREAT during the season but never very good post season

You're comparing Dak to a Hall of Fame QB? How in the hell can you say Peyton wasn't very good in the post season when he played in 4 super bowls and won it twice?

For the record, Dak is only great against the bottom feeders.

Dak would be taken over Richardson, Tua, Cousins, Stafford, Purdy, Goff and Rodgers by the overwhelming majority of NFL GMs right now. He’d be taken over literally everyone in your “other” category. And he’d be taken over Lamar Jackson by a lot of GMs because Baltimore has to build an entire roster and offense around his niche skill set just to make him a functional NFL QB. He is a dramatically inferior passer by virtually every metric to Prescott.

This thread is nothing but an exercise in bias and hatred.

Tua shouldn't be higher than Dak.

I watch Tua almost every week. Dude is smaller, worse arm strength and has faded in prime time games.
Not a mobile QB either.

Midway point I thought he was turning a corner but reality kicked in in the back half.
Yeah I thought Tua was a pretty good QB, although I didn't see him play much. A buddy of mine is a fish fan and told me he hates Tua and that he is a poor version of Dak. For what it's worth from someone who saw him play more than I did.

Because I watched Peyton Manning and clearly you did not
He NEVER shined in ANY of the SBs and the last one he was PATHETIC but then he had a dead arm by then
