I would like to draft Trent Edwards out of Stanford next year. He's got the measurables, plenty of experience, can make all the throws and comes from a solid program. I'm really looking forward to his progress this year.

All of those are a lot of "ifs", but I could see a scenario in which the Cowboys solve their QB problem by pursuing either Matt Schaub or Chris Simms in free agency...

What have they done?

I don't get this fascination with Schaub.

WCO QB in college and the pros, we don't run a WCO, and history tells me if you take those guys out of that system they bomb.

Exactly, I think the people here like him cause he's not Vick

Is that against the law?

I like Vick, but if others don't like him that's their right isn't it?

I won't lie, I don't really know a lot about him-- yet... his rep is pretty good, I surely do plan on studying up on him...

I can tell you that at this moment, I'm not really a hungry bear, in fact I'm pretty stuffed... a coupla months back, an Olive Garden opened up just down the road from us, and their trainers and execs all stayed at our hotel for several weeks... our front desk staff got to be pretty friendly with some of them, and tonight when I got to work, we had a lovely surprise-- two BIG containers, one with a seafood pasta, complete with shrimp, scallops, mussels and mushrooms, the other with a chicken pasta, I think it was fettucine... they had the breadsticks and salad as well... enough to feed 20 people...

I looked at the chicken salad I'd brought to work with me, and figured what the (censored), and did some baaad things to my diabetes... ah well, I've been REAL good lately, getting good readings, so I reckon I can fall off the wagon every once in a while... I'm not looking forward to my next glucose test tomorrow, though...

Beyond the fact that I'm not really supposed to be eating pasta (the rest of the ingredients are perfectly OK), I ate a LOT... been a long time since I ate that much...

eyes hurting, head swelling, another...long...winded, SilverBear post

Not a whole lot-- yet... which is why they'll come at a reasonable price...

But both are highly regarded around the league, and likely to be solid starters for years to come... Simms came on to start the last 10 games of the season for the Bucs, in his 3rd year in the league, and was good enough to help them get to the playoffs... he put up an 81.4 rating last year, not bad for a guy still learning the position...

Schaub has been stuck on the bench behind Michael Vick, but he gave the Falcons a small taste of his potential in his one start last year, going 18 of 34 for 298 yards, with 3 TDs and 0 ints... he had a 112.3 quarterback rating in that game against the Pats...

The only way you're gonna find a star in the draft is to draft really high, and I don't see that happening to the Boys in the near future... so it would behoove them to look for lesser-known quarterbacks who have shown promise, both coming out of the college ranks (Jordan Palmer), or in free agency (Simms or Schaub)... to me, this is preferable to trading away your whole draft to gamble on a marquee college QB, or recycling a veteran retread for a year or two...

And I think you're so dain bramaged from your groupie-like worship of Quincy that you have no credibility at all when the subject is quarterbacks...

Somebody forced you to read it, did they?? Lemme know who's doing that to you, and I'll chastise him severely about the head and shoulders...

Or are you so profoundly stupid as to think I'd modify my style to please you??

Either way, I'm growing weary of your juvenile criticisms that never seem to have anything to do with what's actually said in the post... in fact, I see less and less of substance in YOUR posting style with each passing week... are you just trying to jack up your post count??

Whatever, I have one response:

Bite me...

I'll try, but first I'd like to make a point or two:

1) The first time you make a joke about my long-windedness, it's funny... I mean, I freely admit to that crime, and make fun of my own self for doing it... but after steady repetition, the joke loses its amusement factor, and becomes rather annoying...

2) When such comments become insulting, they're particularly annoying when the one delivering them is somebody you like...

I'm a story teller, what can I say??

I heard bear isn't a fine meal, no thanks

Thou knowest not whereof thou speaks...

Sorry about snappin' at ya, summer... but go easy on that particular line of playfulness, OK??

I probably should have factored in who I was talking to... I know you're playful...

But I have been kinda cranky the last week or so (here comes another story, LOL)... I have a rotator cuff, my right one, that needs surgery, and it's hurtin' on me pretty much nonstop... won't be any golf played by your friendly local Bear until it gets fixed, and I'm fighting the needed surgery for all I'm worth...

Well, the bit about what I had for supper last night was over the top, I was just bein' silly then...

Anyway, don't take anything that comes out of my mouth too much to heart right now, I'm just in a pissy mood... I know you're one of the good guys...

If you didn't occasionally push the envelope, you wouldn't be a true smarta$$... been there, done that...

And yeah, I wound up apologizing too... what a revoltin' development, eh??

Please, don't get to thinking you can't go messing with me... I'd hate if that happens, usually I find it great fun... it appears that even if you do strike a nerve, we're capable of workin' it out...

i voted for brian brohm. big, strong-armed kid whose dad and two brothers all played QB for louisville. smacks of parcells.

but the louisville card i truly covet is RB michael bush. 6-3 and 250 lbs folks. and talk about athletic... remember jerome bettis when he first came out? hellooooooooo.

he's gonna be brutal.
