I've been saying all offseason that we won't be making a big OL splash. Pettiti doesn't need replaced, and obviously Gurode's our center. If you were expecting big moves there, you were just setting yourself up for disappointment. Big moves aren't needed. Depth is needed, and continuity.

Slowly...

Put the crap pipe down...

And take 2 steps back.

Petitti doesn't need to be replaced? Did you even watch any games last year? My god... my 70 lb siberian husky could pass block better then that guy.

Now here's a word that doesn't get much attention but should.

Yeah continuity...

Seeing Petitti get beat week in and week out isn't something I want to continue to see.

Would he play for the rookie minimum??

SHE will play for boiled chicken and raw beef.

:D

Let's check league rules, and sign her up... I'd even throw in one of those great big rawhide chew toys, like my mutt likes...

As you can see, she's been training exceptionally hard for the opportunity. :D

How many Tackles come into the league and don't get their ***** kicked for the first year. 1 out of 40? It's not a good percentage, in any case. Pettiti needs some more strength, and some more quickness. I think he'll be ok.

I know you're wrong.

And the fact that we haven't cut Jacob Rogers speaks VOLUMES as far as Petitti is concerned. He's a solid back at best (if he improves).

You don't think he can be "OK?" I'm not saying he can do anything special. But I think he can get the job done. I'd like a better option there, but there aren't a ton of options out there. Pettiti will be an ok player this year.

Big difference between getting kicked and slaughtered...Pettiti got the latter. So did Terrible Tucker. I would be very surprised to see Pettiti start again, anywhere. Less surprised to see him as a back-up. He will get stronger eventually, but also slower with age.

I think Rack has a good point. Petitti had a tough year and while some here think he will improve significantly, his upside may be limited. I want to see Rob succeed, but clearly if we don't get siginifcantly better play out of that position we are not going to go anywhere this year.

One doesn't have anything to do with the other. Rogers was cut but came back to us due to his injury. We didn't do anything to bring him back like go get him.

Every year, a number of free agents the Cowboys had an interest in sign early, before they get a chance to make a pitch for them... rest assured that the Cowboys have a plan B for each position, and probably a plan C...

Which is not to say I'm not worried about the kicker situation... if things keep going the way they are, the Boys are liable to have to spend about a 5th round pick to draft one of the better college kickers coming out...

I disagree about players signing before Dallas has a chance at them. A few players every year sign somewhere for reasons other than money (think Wahle last year trying to get "home") but an overwhelming majority sign for the most $$$.

Any agent worth his salt is going to check with other teams about how much they're willing to spend before signing on the dotted line.

Do you think Bentley's agent said "that's a lot of money, sign with Cleveland now" or do you think he called the other interested teams and hypotheticalled a number at them?

That's simply illogical. Rogers wasn't "cut" because there is absolutely no advantage, economic or otherwise, to cutting him. It has nothing to to with any other player on the team.

Put me down for backing whatever we need to spend to land Vinatieri. I can't take another season of blown chip shots and heartbreak losses. I think Josh Brown would benefit from a change of scenery, but I really don't want to part with any draft picks.

Mine's spoiled rotten too...

Being an Alaska boy by birth, I do have an affinity for Huskies... do like those eyes... they tend to be a pretty intelligent breed, too... my favorite dogs run even a little bigger than her, I'd like to have a Newfie someday (but I only do one dog at a time, so we're talkin' on down the line, knock on wood), but 70 pounds is 20 pounds bigger than mine, and a nice size...

I think that Petitti can be successful in the league, but only if he moves to guard... I just think I see some Kevin Gogan in him...
