Why do you keep saying I only want to blame Dak?

This whole team sucks. One of the most unlikeable set of players in the last decade +. What you arent understanding is that im not even talking about just this year. The excuses for Dak were rampant even when we had good regular seasons.

This coming from you is strange. You were on my side in the Dak debate at one point. Your befuddlement as to how certain fans dont see it when it comes to Dak is strange to me
I know Dak is polarizing, but this debacle this year is on everyone. this defense has given up 3 200 yard rushing games at home and 4 in the past 4.....that's pathetic.

I am on the side of the cowboys. not Dak debate...everyone thinks we replace Dak with Brady and all our problems go away because he single handedly will lift the cowboys to greatness....that's the farthest from the reality of how NFL works....would Brady make this team better? absolutely. would it be a championship team? absolutely not! we probably lose games the same rate, but a bit closer....a loss nevertheless.

again, if you defense is given up 4 200 yard rushing games in 4 games at home. you have issues....

Maybe because in the last few days alone, YOU WillieBeamen have created at least 2 Anti-Dak ONLY posts. You have become the #1 Cheerleader of the Anti-Dak Crew and, when other folks give valid reasons why this horrific play isn't JUST ON Dak, you go full "I'm right and you're wrong" on the rest of us.

Former player = automatically having more knowledge and credibility than fans is nonsense.

Dez was also on twitter the other day defending that sad performance from Diggs.

Players are human with biases and emotions too. Just because they played the game doesnt mean their opinions are any more informed than ours.

Now if we are talking game tape, id agree
Considering Dez on his way out said some pretty shady things about the organization I dont think he is being bias at all.
However defending Diggs at this point is not even possible. So you may be on to something there. How can you defend a guy that wont tackle, and got burned for a long TD.

Speaking of that crew.

Someone has been missing for awhile. Did he leave and honour what he said or did he get benched?

Detroit targeted Diggs just like other teams have done this year. They were planning to run at him to see what he does. I guarantee they watched the film and they were laughing their faces off at Diggs. The guy is a complete joke at this point. A sad little pathetic pay check cashing excuse for a human.

Part of the reason why the defense sucks is because the offense (notice I said offense, not Dak) is having a big problem with time of possession. The defense can't be on the field 45 minutes a game, the offense has to do their part and they are not doing their job.
The defense isn't on the field for 45 minutes a game what are you talking about?
In essentially every game this season it's been pretty close to 50/50.
No more than 35 - 25 TOP in 2 of 6.

So how else can you blame the defense for sucking on the offense?

Dak’s negative issues affecting the Cowboys, for me, come down to mostly involving the QB salary problem in the entire league. Above average QBs are wildly overpaid relative to their impact on the cap, which makes roster management in the NFL exponentially harder as a result. This is further compounded particularly in Dallas because the FO will do absolutely nothing in FA to improve, which other teams with overpaid above average QBs are doing, such as the Eagles. Dak is good enough to win a SB when he has the pieces around him. I truly believe that. He’s not garbage as many on this board like to say. His weaknesses become more obvious and apparent when there is less talent around him. I suppose one could argue that Dak should be self aware enough about his weaknesses and sign cap friendly deals in order to give Dallas the greatest leverage to acquire more talent to put around him. That still doesn’t fix the main problem though, which is the hyper-inflated QB market in the NFL, nor does it solve Dallas’s particular problem regarding the FO ignoring FA every damn year.
This is a GREAT post. Dak's ceiling is Russell Wilson in his prime with the Seahawks. They went to 2 Super Bowls. But they played defense and had a run game. But to build that...your coaching, scheme and players have to fit. It is the JOB of the front office to know your personnel.

Even if they had paid Dak 50m a year as opposed to 60m.....the situation would be no different. We can't run. Can't stop the run. Have lame duck coaches and staff on both sides of the ball...and saving 10m a year on Daks salary would not have helped you overcome ALL that is wrong with this team. We have a guard (Zach Martin) who held out last year to be one of the highest paid at his position and he looks cooked. We have a highly paid CB (Diggs) who is not a difference maker when teams don't have to throw the ball. We have the 2nd highest paid WR in NFL history who cannot carry a WR corps. In fact...when I think about this WR corps....I am not sure ANY one WR could elevate this entire group. We have 1....1....OL that appears headed to the Pro Bowl. We have ZERO players on defense headed to the Pro Bowl. All of the coaches will be gone this offseason....what are people watching and what makes them think ANY QB...let alone Dak...should be able to overcome all of the holes in this franchise!!!!!!!!

So Dak needs a top-3 defense of all time to get to and win a super bowl? Lol

Btw, Russell Wilson made $1.5m that season they won the Super Bowl.

No matter how any Dak fan tries to spin it, signing him long term was THE wrong decision.

Serious Question

Why is Dak always absolved of any blame when it comes to his poor play. After every INT, its either the receiver ran the wrong route or didnt do enough to break the pass up (see both ints when targeting ceedee in the endzone). After every fumble in the pocket (Sacks are a qb stat). And the most frequent excuse is scheme and lack of weapons. Was this not the same scheme when he was 2nd in mvp voting last season?

Cowboys twitter is filled with posts like this one. This is now the third offense where Dak fans have casted blame on the scheme.

The last question I pose is, what supposed top-5 QB have you seen constantly given these excuses for poor play? If he is as good as yall say, shouldnt his talent be able to overcome a “bad scheme”?

ask them? i can't stand loaded questions. i'm a "dak fan" to an extent, and a spade is a spade. a lot of the excuses mentioned are valid to an extent, AND his fault. and it happens over and over and over again. you can almost set your watch to it. just don't think he's got it. in certain circumstances, when all clicks, when everything is going well, he can look tremendous. in circumstances where everything isn't perfect he can look ordinary / pedestrian, when things are bad he compounds them. and no i can't think of another qb like this and i've tried lol

You dak fans have issues. Trashing a franchise legend because Dak is not a good QB.

Insanity
ehh.... troy was a phenomenal qb, and wasn't truly asked to do all that much. when he did he delivered and why i love him. but he had luxury upon luxury.

When your QB fumbles and throws untimely INT's in the RZ it kind of deflates a team. When your QB does this on a weekly basis, it kind of deflates a team. After 8 years, it kind of deflates a team. No, he isn't the only one to blame....
week to week basis? over 8 years? can you divide?

Bro, blaming Ceedee for not attempting to break up that INT is insane.

again, when your QB is throwing INT's and has untimely fumbles it kills the momentum and turns into points for the other team. No doubt the D has been disgusting, but the team is built to play with the lead,, and our QB hasn't helped in this matter
that's not a counterpoint to what you responded to lol.

its not insane nor was it the reason for the pick.It was a stupid throw period but CeeDee is my favorite player who this year has turned into a whiny little B. maybe a little more effort to break that up helps the team but I find it hard to see that he would have been able to stop his momentum and get there.

CeeDee and his reactions on the sidelines and after plays are indicative of the entire culture on the cowboys and isnt good.
