The last part was sarcasm more or less. Sorry.

Phillips does have the best roster we have had in quite some time. Players have matured. He needs to win in the post season with this team. If he can't
he was simply never meant to.

Yes this roster is maturing and there are 12 different starting players on this roster from what the 06 roster was before he took over. Sure he needs to win he has a good chance with this current team. He has this team playing the best football they have played in years.

Dave in NY since Shanahn was the possible link to the Boyz and is now a Commander I can't think of any candidate but Cowher to take over the Boyz but you say no Cowher and wht not? or who do you like?

I didn't say NO Cower did I? I think like Alexander does. He won't get the control he would want out of Jerry's hands, until they are cold, stiff and turning to dust.

As far as a new HC? I would have to see who was available.

I think you would have to get rid of Wade Phillips.

Regardless, I believe the decision to keep Wade Phillips has already been made.

None of those.

Wade is gone.

Garrett becomes the head coach and Herring or Grantham takes over the defense.

Nice to see you posting again.:)

The only problem with another three year contract is the commitment. Is another playoff appearance and out worth that? No. But there has been progress from last year and that would be enough to pick up the option. The only problem there is you have an older coach with what amounts to lame duck status. It is a tough situation to be in. I would rather him just make it easy. Win it all and retire.

I think Jerry would prefer the option, as I think he views Wade as a guy who needs to be pushed a little. I don't think he wants Wade to get comfortable with a 3 year deal regardless - he made that mistake with TO.

That said, I don't think the 'lame duck' status is as bad as it would be other places, because I'm sure the players know where the real authority is anyway.

I like your option though.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I could live with Garrett. I don't care for either of the coordinator options.

I think the players would feel comfortable with either of those guys.

And we want this defense to continue to gel.

Because they have big fingers.

Why do you say that?

Especially seeing what happened to the NYG defense this year.

Wade Phillips will be coaching the Cowboys in 2010 regardless of Saturday's outcome. The option has already been picked up but not announced imo.

If we lose, I still think Wade will be back unless we get absolutely dismantled. If we go deep into the playoffs, I expect a multi-year extension.

I cut Wade loose. He has a terrific regular season record. He also has a horrific
post season record. Every coach here is measured in SB's why shouldn't Phillips be?

If the Cowboys lose again in the first round at home to a team that they have beat two times before...

You Fire Phillips.

i do number 1 until i found out about whether there is a lockout or not. No need to pay a coach when there is not football being played.

Question: NO JOKES just honest answers !!! Just looking for various opinions. If the Cowboys lose to the Eagles Saturday night say 28-14 and your the Owner of the Boyz would you:

1) Take the Option on Wade Phillips Contract for 2010
2) Sign Wade to a new 3 year Deal
3) Go after Bill Cowher as HC

No. 3

Honestly, if it is a choice between Wade and Cowher, Jerra would have to be a moron to re-sign the former and not the latter.
there is just no comparison between humpty-dumpty and Cowher.

If we can get Cowher, absolutely. Just make damn sure the approach didn't get leaked to the media.

Keith Butler Byran Cox

If the Cowboys come to play and play well (and preferably win the game!) this Saturday, I would extend Wade one year.
