Honestly, if it is a choice between Wade and Cowher, Jerra would have to be a moron to re-sign the former and not the latter.
there is just no comparison between humpty-dumpty and Cowher.
How can you say that? Cowher was a HC ALOT longer than Wade has been. Cowher won one super bowl, and that was only because his team got a tremendous assist from the refs. They were outplayed badly that game. He lost several home playoff games when his team was favored. He was the only person in the Stealer organization apparently who believed Kordell Stewart was a QB.
I'd venture to say that if Wade was a HC as long as Cowher was, he'd easily have the same results.
Cowher coached 15 seasons. He got to the postseason 10 times and overall won 62.3% of his regular season games and was 12-9 in the postseason. In 8 of the 10 postseasons his team won only 1 game or no games.
Wade's been a fulltime HC for 8 seasons total. In those 8 seasons he has a record of 78-50, which is a winning percentage of 60.9%. In 5 of the 8 seasons he's got his team to the playoffs.
The only things Cowher has on Wade is 1) he was a HC alot longer and 2) he has some playoff wins. And he didnt win a playoff game in his first two tries and won only 1 in his 3rd try. He lost home playoff games after the 92, 94, 97, 2001 and 2004 seasons.
