Banned? Practically escorted to jail. What kills me is fans thinks he was the worst QB. Pueller, Babe, Hogeboom, Leaf and a few others were worse but pure hatred comments aren't use to describe them...... I wonder why. He was thrown to the wolves to early if he had the time, support and talent Romo has we'd might have had something.

Geez, The Prophet thought cutting the horrid Q was the easiest decision BP ever had to make. LOL. QC was a cancer to this team, set back the QB position for 5 years. The fact that JJ burned a 2nd rounder to pick up this clown is pathetic.

I didn't care for Carter (didn't think he had what it takes to be an NFL QB), but I hardly think it's fair to say he was a "cancer". Usually, that term is reserved for people who are influencing others to behave badly. I don't recall any such accusations about Quincy.

I liked Carter as a football player and I enjoyed watching him play.......Carter did have the support from his coach......its too bad he blew it.....he could of least had a nice career as a backup in this league and be set for life.

He choose his path...............

btw....nice post Trueblue

The Prophet is ignorant, if anything players like Hutch and Hutch 2.0 wasted this organizations time. QC is STILL the only QB since Aikman to take this team to the playoffs, Im not sure what he is really whining about.

Of course it was tough -- it is pretty clear that many of the players really love Bill. Many might even see him as a father figure - and Bill likely views many like sons. Some folks here seem to assume that Bill reserves that relationship for players he had in NY or white guys from Jersey. That clearly isn't the case. You spend a year working with someone as closely as Bill did with Quincy and then you have to fire them? That can hurt, especially when you like the kid.

We thought we did have something. He liked drugs too much to continue to develop that something. Instead of a guy who flat out didn't have it, we had a guy who flat out didn't care. That's a little worse, IMO.

Do you know what an addiction is? It is more than simply not caring.

Thank you Dr. Phil.

I know there are plenty of people, who don't have nearly the perks or advantages Quincy had, who handle their addictions, because they would rather control their lives. Maybe eventually he did care. But by then, it was too late, and he couldn't be trusted anymore.

I always wanted to ask this and I'm done( with this issue) the season is coming and I'm so excited. Anyway why is hated so bad? Before you answer the first thing I use to here is because he was so terrible and he sucked that's either a lie to cover what you really want to say or your blind. I'm thinking well I've watched Kevin Sweeney, Pueller, Hutchinson, Leaf, Stoener and so and they were worse why don't you hate them as worse since they were worse. Where is all the hate for them? I'm just asking

Whatever you say, like you have any kind of clue of what being addicted to anything entails. You can say he couldnt be trusted any more, but you have to be Mrs Cleo to tell me he diddnt care any more. Big Difference.

I don't hate Quincy, and I really don't think there are many people who do. People like riding kartr about Quincy, but that's about it.

As for your second part, I think the difference in reaction has to do with expectations. Did people have much hope for Stoerner, leaf? I think Hutchinson gets alot of the same crap Quincy gets, they kind of fall in the same category. But again, Hutch just sucked. Quincy hoed his own road out of town.

My apologies. I'll defer to your extensive medical knowledge of addictions, and drug rehabilitation. What do I know? I mean, I only visited a close friend in the hospital who OD'd on his older brother's heroin in 8th grade, buried a friend in 10th grade, and had my best friend struggle with doing and dealing drugs all throughout high school.

But thanks for telling me what I know.

I remember that day.

It was certainly the most shocking cut.

Probably the most shocking Cowboys move since Herschel was traded.

i feel bad for Q, people hate him for reasons i cant understand. Irvin had personal problems and he is one of my favorite players of all time.
I thought Q played well the year he brought us to the playoffs. I mean, really well, because his supporting cast was awfull (troy hambrick...yuck). I still remember celebrating the night we beat the giants late in the game with that cundiff FG late in the game. I hope someday he finally deals with his problems and he can enjoy his life.

i think its pretty safe to say that if quincy wouldnt have gotten in that mess again and played that year, we would have been a lot better off than we were with testaverde. Now wether you believe its cuz he had spent more time than testaverde with the team or cuz he was just plain better at the time is up to you, but i believe in the latter. It saddened me that happened and i think it would have been a much bigger deal nationally if it wasnt for ricky leaving the dolphins that same summer.

What kills me about the whole Q thing is if he had been drafted in 2003 when Bill first got here, I don't think he would have been rushed in like he was. I think Parcells would have brought him along like he has with Romo and maybe thing would have been different.

I think Carter improved a lot from where he was under Parcells' and Payton's guidance. He went from an athlete playing QB to a guy that you could see starting to get it. The impulse decisions went down, he became much more accurate throwing the ball and was learning to trust his weapons.

Too bad he just wasn't confident enough in his own self. He had a lot of issues with self doubt in my mind, which made him feel threatened by competition.

The other thing is that I don't buy it that he was an "addict". I think he was just someone who made bad choices. I know there are times I have done things I know I shouldn't have done but I got caught up in the moment.

So it does make it frustrating that he couldn't control himself. Because he was at the point in a QB's development that he was either going to take that next step or become stagnant. I think it was the former...but what the hell do I know?

I am glad we now have a guy like Bledsoe and even Romo. Romo actually seems to have a similar skill set to Carter without the confidence problems.
