Wasn't it noted that Quincy being cut allowed for Romo to stay on the team?

It has been noted that had he not been kicked off the team that season that most likely Romo wouldn't have made the final cuts and would have been off the team.

Of course now days there are plenty around here that would be happy about the fact that he wasn't here and we'd still be going with old, over the hill, retreads (Vinny or Drew) or that we'd still be looking for a QB while suffering threw more Drew Hensons, Quincy Carters, Ryan Leafs, etc.

Former Belton star Taylor surfaces with Rio Grande Valley arena team

Two years after his last organized football game, former Belton and University of Texas star Ramonce Taylor will return to the gridiron.

Taylor was one of eight players the arenafootball2 league office assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Dorados’ training camp roster. The Dorados, an af2 team based in Hidalgo that went 7-9 last season and 16-2 the year before, begin their sixth season in March.

Taylor hasn’t appeared in a game since participating in the Texas vs. The Nation college all-star game on Feb. 2, 2007.

The multi-talented Belton product rushed for school records of 4,010 yards and 62 touchdowns during a three-year career with the Tigers before signing a scholarship with Texas.

In 2005, his second season with the Longhorns, he totaled a team-high 1,219 all-purpose yards and scored 15 TDs, including one in Texas’ national championship victory over Southern California in the Rose Bowl.

But academic issues and an arrest in May of ’06 for possession of marijuana ended Taylor’s days in Austin. He enrolled at NAIA’s Texas College but never was cleared to play. He pleaded guilty to the marijuana charge in September of ’06 and was sentenced to five months in state jail early last year for probation violations.

The 23-year-old Taylor will battle for a roster spot with the Dorados, who last month were assigned former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter.

So I watched an old game from 2003. Monday Night game vs NYG in NY. Wild finish as Dallas gets a miracle 35-32 win.

Now the thing is that Quincy played a pretty good game other than a pick 6. I got to thinking about Quincy's short career, and it strikes me as a tragedy. They guy wasn't the greatest QB, but he wasn't the worst either. Of the multitude of spare QBs that have come through here between Aikman & Romo, Quincy was the best of the rest.

He even managed a 10-6 playoff appearance under Parcells.

I saw a few Qcar games live at Texas Stadium back then.

Then it all came crashing down for the guy. I never got the full story on the dope situation. All I can remember is that it was weed or maybe coke. I also believe Quincy did not get the same chance to atone for his transgression the way other players have been when they have done equal or worse.

I can't help but feel sorry for the guy. From starter for Dallas to never seen in the NFL again. Did he ever even get a look from another team in a training camp?

The Q was our worst QB ever, bar none. Errant throws, bonehead decisions, and regular interceptions ruled the day when he was under center.
Don't be naive enough to believe he had anything to do with our 10-6 season. An easy as pie schedule and a great D carried him into the playoffs that year, his horrible play assured us an early exact.
He sucked, I am so glad this idiot is gone.

Hey, I was there and that was a very interesting and exciting game.

Believe it was Parcells' first time to Giants Stadium as Cowboys coach?...

Cundiff tied the NFL record for field goals...

Amazing ending...

It felt like the magic might come back to this team!

Ayuh I remember that game. Probably my favorite of the post-Aikman era, no kidding. Glorious ending. Nothing beats how that game ended.

EDIT:
Well Romo in Buffalo was pretty close to this one too.
