Quincy Carter

^^^As much as I disliked that guy, I liked him better than I have Brad Johnson. I do have to admit, The Major from the "Church of Vinny" website was amusing to argue with. A total idiot when it came to actual football knowledge, but his delusions were hilarious.
I'd have taken 45-year old Vinny over Brad this year.

Real talk.

Hey, I was there and that was a very interesting and exciting game.

Believe it was Parcells' first time to Giants Stadium as Cowboys coach?...

Cundiff tied the NFL record for field goals...

Amazing ending...

It felt like the magic might come back to this team!

.................Every time I see this picture it reminds me of........THIS was the day we finally moved on and tried to get better. Like cutting ties with a crazy girlfriend, or a no good brotherinlaw thats always trying to borrow money from you...LOL I remember the day it happened, I came home and looked at the zone, read the story, saw the picture, I litterally, NO LIE,....jumped right from my seat and started fistpumping while letting out a big YEEE HAWWWW. I knew right then we could get on with the business of getting BETTER.

yeah? and how has that worked out so far?

there were times during the season where i wished he was still here...atleast he know how to use his feet....

There were times during this past season where it seemed he WAS here as QB.

The biggest mistake the cowboys made with Carter (other than drafting him in the 2nd round) was throwing him in the game LONG before he was ready.

He struggled early, lost confidence, and then it was all over for him. The same thing would have happened to Romo if Parcells had thrown him in as a rookie.

The dude had some talent (some...) but anyone with two working eyeballs could see he was not ready to play in the NFL. We had signed a veteran QB (Tony Banks) so that we could develop Carter, but Jerry Jones got ahead of himself (suprise surprise) and decided to start the Carter era early.

Could Carter have become a good QB if he'd been developed properly? It's irrelevant. I do know that he had ZERO chance of becoming a good QB thanks to Jerry Jones being an idiot and Dave Campo being a pushover.

Quincy Carter was AWFUL. Every other pass was like the opening of Duck Season. This guy sucked so bad we were looking at Chutch and Henson and all sorts of other spares. Just another Jerry Jones draft disaster.

exactly ....he sucked .....ugly passer and dumb as a rock...his pressers were as painful as hitting head on a rock wall......he was no better than all the other crap we ran through here ..he just got more chances cause he was Jerry's guy......best thing he ever did for the Cowboys was getting caught sniffing and kicked out ...that made room for us to keep Romo

There is alot of truth is this post.

Unfortunately, Quincy Carter's mental demons got the best of him and when that happens, its all down hill from there.

REAL good actually. Now we have a QB that puts us in contention every season, we have a QB that throws more TD'S than he does interceptions, we have a QB that WINS , we have a QB that in any given season can and has put up record setting performances. Then we look at what we had with that no talent Bum Carter .......ZILCH. Yep,....I'd say we came out wayyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead on that deal! :laugh2:

Plus I LOVE that picture. I really do. What a GREAT day that was when he was THROWN from the Cowboys training camp facilities and out into the street early in the morning while still in his pajamas!....:laugh2:

Drugs > Football

Bull****. I can't believe you just said that. Football is our future whether you choose to believe it or not. That's a ridiculous comparison. Drugs are insignificant when compared to what we have in the almighty football.

He peaked his Junior year in college. That was the best it ever got for him.

His senior year was forgettable. His pro "career", if you want to call it that, was tragic.

I was pretty stoked when we got him, because I had "visions of a mobile QB" dancing in my head. THAT MUCH he offered more than anyone since Roger Staubach. I thought maybe we had a Vick-type (talent wise) or a "Slash" type guy.

But all the talent in the world is no good if it's stoned all night and sleeping it off the next day........................

He started a few games for the Jets after he was released from the Cowboys. And Parcells brought him in for a tryout just this past summer in Miami.

He actually was supposed to start a playoff game for NYJ but had something happen with his family and brooks bollinger played instead. He was cut shortly after

Seriously?

Last I heard he was in Shreveport.

He was in Shreveport and was playing for an indoor football team here but he kept getting arrested for dope and sometimes wouldn't show up for practice. He bought his parents a house right around the corner from my parents.

...............Nuthin happened to his family. He was just on a bong binge again. Not even kidding either, he really was. THAT is why the Jets sent him packing.

Wasn't it noted that Quincy being cut allowed for Romo to stay on the team?

He did? That was one of many complains I had about him. I wish he would have run more because that mean he wasn't throwing the ball.

lol...under pressure....yes. He ran, he didn't hang around and look down the feild. There were times this year where Romo could have walked for a first down, but he threw an incomplete pass and didn't keep the drive going.....
