Like I said, your critics normally criticize you. If you attribute the drop in Roy's level of play to a lack of concentration, intensity, or heart, then that's criticism. If you say he got the big payday and now he has eased off, that's criticism also. The majority of the negative comments made about Roy are along those lines, not about religion.AdamJT13;2069911 said:You can find comments like that all over the place.
OTOH, you could say Roy's level of play has dropped, and the criticism could end there. You might then add that it was because he found religion, or he has to adjust to a new defense, etc. Then you're building an excuse into it. To me, people who say that aren't really critics of Roy, and unless something was omitted from the interview, it was only that second kind of "criticism" that Roy was addressing.
There isn't, after all, any need for Roy to tell people what people say.
