This is probably not a big surprise, but he was basically making the point that he will be on the 53 man roster, and NOT exposed to the Practice Squad.

Yeah, I heard that. He said, when asked about his position or be on the PS......they would be all over him like Panthers..he's staying. Good, he looks like he can play with some needed experience.

I'm glad McQuistan is staying. I think we could use all the o-line depth we can get.

Most talented O-lineman we've drafted since Gurode, I'm saying.

Just look at how the guy moves... Everyone talked about Rivera being ahead of Barber on that screen play 30 yards downfield, but McQ was sprinting out there like a linebacker, and from the other side of the formation. Amazing he's that big and fast -- and naturally strong -- with so little experience and I assume less-than-elite training at Weber State.

This guy will play for us for many, many years. No joke.

This guy is right up there as one of the best surprises this year. The achilles' heel of last year's team was lack of depth at tackle - LT specifically. Hitting on a 7th rounder to provide quality depth is amazing and is on par with Watkins possibly starting at free safety.

Remember the old 12 round draft years. It was said that a 9 to 12 was a steal (like Larry Brown). And was said, that you can get a good quality player in the 7th (like Leon Lett). And yes, that can be considered a steal then too, but was not considered a bad pick either.

Now because it's only 7 rounds, people think you are getting bums at that spot. Well we got a good quality player, that can turn into a steal...and hopefully if it plays out right, will be a great pick and player....let's hope for the best.

Like I mentioned somewhere else, Parcells, when asked if he can squeeze him though waivers to get him on the Practice Squad: "Are you kidding me! They would be on him like Panthers."

I can think of at least one team in our division that is sorely lacking in OL depth. If he was claimed by a certain team playing in DC, I'd be pissed off.

They played McQ too much in the pre-season to be able to hide him. All things considered he played pretty damn well starting at LT.

McQ is a fine young player and he is only going to get better....he'll be here awhile.

You don't want a guy like that on the practice squad anyways. We need him on the 53 man roster, no doubt about it.

Yeah I get the same feeling.

A late rounder that CAN play and has all the tools... then sandwich that with the opportunity to play for the Dallas Cowboys.

Yes, he stays!

Jeff Ireland got another big steal that none of us thought about before the draft.

I especially liked when they asked BP if he would play McQ in a real game and he said, "That was their first string he was playing against for 3 quarters!"

It's a bit of a surprise how well he's played so far, but when you think about it, the guy is an identical twin to a 3rd rounder, the only difference being their experience. Pat was one English credit short of qualifying at Weber State. He went to JuCo where he played baseball (pitcher, I think), which makes him perfect for the Cowboys. :)

McQ will hopefully compensate for the Rogers pick in time.

This is why it's important NOT to trade away all your draft picks (i.e., Skins) heading into the Draft.

Like the idea that McQuistan has a baseball background. (per kmd24)

Does this mean we won't have to pay Adams when his contract is up, but can move right on to McQ?

Bill's comment when asked if McQ was a candidate for the PS was something like "are you kidding? he'd get gobbled up" - it was a classic "have you been watching these guys play at all" comment

It's official. We're the ugliest team in the league.
